Let's discuss this game for a moment.
* How do we attack the zone with just 1 shooter? Maybe the zone will help our PG's :dunno:
* How quickly will Gip get 2 fouls trying to keep Gathers off the boards
* Finally - No Brady Heslip :Woot:
Whatever.
-
Jevon is gonna carve up this zone like dadjones used to carve up the Thanksgiving turkey on Thanksgiving Day.
-
I'm looking forward to a 55 possession thriller between the tortoises of the Big 12!

Curious of the spread. Thinking Baylor -4.5

Curious of the spread. Thinking Baylor -4.5
Vegas respects the fOOD. Probably a pick.
-
We are going 1-4 in the next 5.
-
adversity!
-
Every Cat fanatic that has lungs and vocal cords at the game should holler and stomp at Baylor until your eyes bug out, your tongue swells, foam comes out you nose, your hoarse, and your feet swell. This group of Cats play their best when energized by the crowd or are mad at the world. Turn up the heat so Foster and Fiends can have a bear meat feast.
-
adversity!
The rollercoaster is here. 0-1 to 3-1, to 4-5. Man. Hold on.
-
we might score in the 40's........ and win :Wha:
-
I can't think of anything worse. Maybe scoring in the 40's and losing. Splitting hairs at that point. :dunno:
-
It's possible the Bears will be looking past us to their upcoming matchup with Huston–Tillotson.
-
holy crap I thought you were kidding, _fan.

whoa
-
Baylor's athletic department does an embarrassing job of scheduling regardless of sport
-
huston-tillotson pulled off a miraculous overtime win against kansas wesleyan a few years ago in the NAIA soccer playoffs. jfc baylor

Keep Gathers off the boards, contain Cherry. Hopefully Nino is finding holes in the zone and shooting it well.

Yes....Niño at the short corner is key. Gibson won't able to score inside against BU bigs; I hope we don't even try that.

Baylor has one player listed at 6'9 and two a 6'8. He should get some put backs and seals.

He played decent against Baylor in both games last year.
-
Gip will be fine. We need Hurt to knock down some shots on the zone.

Yes, and find someone else who can make a 3.
Wes and Jevon slashing (without turning it over) is critical.

Sounds EPLy. What does their crest look like?
Gonna win 'em all!

Bu zone is perfect for niño and hurt; gip needs to sit.
-
Jevon Thomas might be the worst player in the Big 12.
-
Cherry dribbles to his right and pulls up for jumpers. He did this last year in Manhattan. How can the scouting report not be better on him. We must force him left more and jump out hard on those high screens..... And don't let him come off the screen with no pressure in his face
-
We did!
#TheWesIsTheFuture
-
Is Baylor a good 3 pt shooting team? No idea, but that's the diff today
-
Get Hurt in and Gibdon out
-
We need to try hard more often
-
Jevon Thomas might be the worst player in the Big 12.
He goes completely brain dead 2 to 10 times per game.
-
Malek is trying. This team is the ultimate flashes of brilliance followed by total incompetence.
-
I haven't seen much brilliance
-
I haven't seen much brilliance
Yeah, sorry. Meant competence followed by gross incompetence.
-
Yes, that is fair. Baylor's awful play has played a big part of our runs.

And here we are, somehow, with the lead.

Pretty competent!

oscar is such an idiot
-
We are the worst team in basketball in the last minute of a game
-
oscar is such an idiot
And then Drew gives us a free time out to set up an inbounds play
-
I think we are probably worse when we try to set up an inbounds play
-
I think we are probably worse when we try to set up an inbounds play
This might be true
-
LOL this team
-
:Woohoo:
-
Weber still needs to go. Literally no excitement even after a big win like this. Fuckin pathetic.
-
Reid: maybe they'll just go without foster the rest of the game, this group is playing so well
Mitch: uhhh, wut??
-
Fridge magnets motivate the crap out of oscar
-
#bruceketball guys!
-

This seems like a choice to me.
I know I enjoyed it.
-
IMO, the strategy of switching Westicles onto chery wasn't as brilliant as switching the guys guarding the guys setting screens for chery
-
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to holler Cat Fans.
-
This one was fun, guys.
-
Confession: my shoulder legitimately hurts from fist pumping after the Chery missed layup to end the game.
-
This one was fun, guys.
this.
Gonna win 'em all!
-
i thought the game was at 4 for some reason. got to watch that ending tho :ohno:
-
BULLET POINTS
-did the repeated ass/piss poundings via zone in the noncon help us out today?
-name another big 12 team we've had as many close contests with since oscar has taken over. it feels kind of weird. would be cooler if Baylor was a "rival" or something
-

First win all year where we had to show some heart and toughness that we have been begging for. I know I thought we were dead in the water down 49-37 with 11:30 left.
-

This is an excellent point. Putting Westicles on Chery had very little affect since we switched every single screen, that one steal was cool though.
-
Only 6 TOs and 1.32 PPP after we did are best " Bad News Bears" impersonation and got down 24-10 with 8 TOs in less than 12 min.
-
Whatever guys. #TheWesIsTheFuture

Pretty competent!
:)

Loved that 40 foot threading the needle pass from Westicles to Nino for a layup.

I enjoy wins regardless of the coach. I think the thing most of Team BID struggles with is that no matter how the team does, we don't like oscar as a person and his personality flaws have shown a tendency to affect on court play negatively. Dunno, maybe if we made the Final 4 or something I could take on the he's an idiot but he's our lovable idiot mentality.

I didn't love the 10th timeout that Weber has taken 4 seconds left on the shot clock.
Is that a thing? I mean, like a strategy employed by smart coaches?
Gonna win 'em all!

The long shot from Foster that we rebounded worked out in the end. It is funny that he got a shorter, more open shot on his own that oscar stopped with the time out. It looks like oscar didn't quite learn his lesson from the end of the OU game that he should just stay out of the way in those situations.

My first game at the OOD since #titletown. Love the new lighting scheme and blacking out the crowd. For a huge game it must just feel like dark rage to the guys on the court. Imagining it for the true OOD era gives me goosebumps. And the jumbotron is every bit as impressive as advertised.
-
Yes, we switched a lot of screens, but Chery simply couldn't come down and drive or pull up and pop to his right like he consistently did against Jevon. Westicles's length bothered him and it was a very good decision. Also, choosing to bust Baylor's screen and roll game instead of going under screens was significant too.

This was my 2nd this year and it was great. Also, despite some ugly stretches of play, the crowd came alive down the stretch and it was loud in there. Very OODish.
Also oscar deserves some credit for being pretty good at winning decent games at the OOD; now 7-1 against ranked and has won 6 in a row IIRC.
-
Yes 6 in a row.

first game for me at the OOD this season. agree with 'meister on all accounts. the atmosphere wasn't bad before but it's so much better now. the 'tron is a thing of beauty, and the new lighting enhances the look of the entire place. can't wait for some big games.
i can't believe we won that game. i, along with the people around me, were laughing at how we were playing the first 10 minutes. the turnovers were laughable, and multiple times i thought to myself that baylor was out classing us. and we came back and won the game.
