Joe Pug is playing as the undercard for Devil Makes Three. That alone would be worth it.

What kinds of people were there?
It ran the gamut of stoner white dudes and dudettes, hippies to hipsters to frat looking guys in button downs and snap-back hats turned backwards. The funniest for me were the mom, dad and daughter in the balong with us. I think it was the daughter's birthday because they kept bringing her drinks and taking pictures of her posing with them with the stage in the background.

I went to it for an hour, decided to go to an air conditioned bar for the USA game, then went back for portugal the man. PTM were great as always, played an encore after half the crowd left and played a really old song which was a nice treat.

Just saw the Foo Fighters in Fenway.I'm jealous. Saw the Foos in either 08 or 09 in Kemper, and they were incredible. Nearly a 3 hour show.
Had seats probably 12ft from Dave on his throne. He acknowledged me twice.

I find it a very stale, monotonous and boring imitation of a genre that is already pretty monotonous and boring but man the videos of their shows just make me think the crowds would be awful.

i generally go to concerts because i listen to the artists regularly and don't support them through merchandise or music purchases, so i'll buy a concert ticket and go listen to music that I enjoy for a few hours. i don't feel that a slightly stoopid show is a can't miss event, but i'm already going to kansas city this weekend for something else. i also haven't seen the dirty heads or the expendables before, so that's a plus.
also, just about every concert crowd i've ever encountered are worse to be around than the crowds at white, stoner reggae shows, but i don't mind pot smoke and hippies. we don't get much of the skate/ surf bro element at shows in the midwest.

Me and sunny_cat enjoyed Vince Staples on Tuesday night. He was very good and pretty damn funny with the crowd. Got everyone to chant eff the police then made fun of all the white college kids for being mad at the police. There was cake at the merch booth.

Chance the Rapper is a hell of a performer. What a fun show. Between him and Kendrick, more rappers should take note and have bad ass live bands.
I couldn't get Kendrick tickets. :frown:
saw a good review. Although I have seen some amazing shows with DJamer's and it's really hard to get a kickass live band. I've seen several rappers with extremely bland (but talented) backing bands and would probably be just as good or better with a DJamer.

I've never seen a rap group with a band live, but on tv it almost always is worse than the album.
It's mostly been marinating in my head and this is the first time I've put it into words. Like the live band panders to white audiences because hip-hop performances with a DJamer - basically entirely created by blacks - aren't good enough for whites. It's not "real music" or a "real performance" in their eyes or something.
Does that make sense at all?

Garth Brooks concerts are amazingagreed. Even if you don't like country. He puts on a great show and there are amazing fans to watch. They have colorful clothes!

If you're planning on going to the Leon Bridges/Nathaniel Rateliff concert at the Midland you should probably get tix now. I just picked up a pair and the only thing left was balcony. (FYI Nathaniel Rateliff's show at the recordbar got cancelled for this one)
I think it was rescheduled, because he's playing at the Riot Room in February. :peek:

Not worried though. 2002 ICT was the best Tool show. 16 year old Abe was on the railing. The railing kept moving during the first few songs and like 15 beefy security bros had to push it back. My feet were off the ground for the first song (Sober)
