:dunno:
-
I'm just gonna forget that ever happened.
-
i was very angry about this
-
Classic Bill.
-
Was completely infuriating.
-
I could not believe that... What in the hell?
-
turned out to be a pretty good lil scheme to draw the penalty though

But still...strange call.
-
AND we only had one timeout; it was a horrible decision.
-
Wait, I was at the game and haven't watched a replay yet, and at that time people were going all crazy for the clothed streakers so I couldn't hear. What was the confusion on the penalty? What was their original call, and what did it get corrected to? Can some stud explain that to me?

The penalty was 12 men on the field. Snyder wanted to accept the penalty as half the distance to the goal, but the refs decided that since the penalty occurred prior to the play, he could either take 5 yards for a 4th and 5 or decline the penalty.
-
Oh. So he was wanting to back them up half the distance so that we could what, safety them and still be 10 points behind with (likely less than) 6 minutes left and only one timeout? Weird.

Yes, I was yelling at the tv the whole time. It was even weirder to me that after making the decision to put them on the 2.5 yard line, Bill decided that the 5 yard line wasn't good enough and that he would take that football back after all.

Well, we went from 4th and 11 or so to 4th and 6. So I think the easier distance changed his mind. Or maybe he realized what a stupid decision he'd just made. I mean they wasted like 20 seconds to get that punt off.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward him just thinking it through and realizing how stupid punting was in the first place. It's infuriating watching LHC Bill Snyder football when we are down by 2 scores in the 4th quarter.

was baffling at the time

was baffling at the time
ok still is baffling. but like at the time, i was really mad and yelling about it, but now i'm just more internally baffled about it. know what i mean?
-
I do know what you mean taterblast. I do.
-
know what i thought was baffling? That after we recovered that fumble it took us 3:30 to go 21 yds when by all accounts we should have been in "hurry up" mode. I mean good grief. Even when we're in "bleed the clock/ball control" mode I don't think we ever manage to move the ball that slowly.
-
We have a hurry-up mode?? :horrorsurprise:

Well, not sure if this is better or worse, but the "down 2 scores, punt with 6 minutes left" drive took 6-1/2 minutes.
-
We have a hurry-up mode?? :horrorsurprise:
yes. it is defined by snapping the ball with the play clock still in double digits.
