Title: Mobile Keyboard Custom Emoticons Question

I appreciate any help...or knowledge...is it possible to make custom emoticons (i.e. sports team related..) that work similar to the emoticons loaded into your phone's keyboard? Either through your default SMS app of choice, or Facebook messenger..I am sure there are limitations to this involving university/team trademarks.  To simplify, you are texting a buddy or girl, discussing the Cats, Royals, Chiefs, etc..and you want to pop up your emoticon menu integrated in your touchscreen keyboard, and you pick the little powercat or interlocking KC icon, arrowhead, etc.

I know there are some programmers with some insight. TIA
