Title: MMA
Post by: SdK on December 02, 2014, 01:09:36 PM
SdK mom and I went to my brothers first MMA fight in Omaha last week. He won by TKO 40 seconds into the second round. It won fight of the night.

Anywho, I'm thinking about training for some MMA fights. If I feel I'm ready, I'll enter the octagon. But I am more looking forward to the training.

Does anyone on here have experience with MMA training or know of any trainers in the area? My brother fights out of Hastings, so I can't train there.

You're also more likely to see someone die boxing than you are competing in MMA.

Just opened it and read the first paragraph. Because fights end in a certain manner they are assuming?

8 of 10 fights I saw last week ended in tap outs. The other two ended because the ref stopped the fight to prevent injury.

soar with the eagle once a week

True Story:  I used to think that commercial said "eagle auto wash and the tanning salon" and I would always think to myself that it was weird that the car wash place had a tanning salon, but then come to find out it actually says "detailing salon."  /true story

I would think grabbing a quick bronze while they detail your car is a great idea.  I am going to invent that

in high school, I met the guy that sings that jingle (and many other radio jingles in the NE Kansas area).  I made him sing the "soar with the eagles" jingle, it didn't sound just like on the radio, but it was pretty close.

I didn't understand the swordplay.  Toys?  Don't real swords cut through dudes?  And it appears they're not heavy at all and don't hurt that much when you hit someone with them.  I'd just throw the sword and shield at the other guy's head to distract him and free up my hands and then move in for the choke.

I also don't really get fencing, but I assume it's basically tag with sticks, so I can kind of follow what they're trying to do.

Yes, that makes sense if it's understood that the fights are always going to go to the scorecards, which would be based on who'd have won if those swords did damage.  I don't see this sport succeeding if there's no KOs.

They should make it where the sword would cause a shock to the body part that got hit...the strength of the shock would be based on how hard it was hit...and if it got hit hard enough that it would have been cut off with a real sword then the shock is so strong it immobilizes the appendage...but then at the end no permanent damage.
