“I didn’t feel like we could pass it up,” Weber said. “Then I heard the field and I thought, why did I do this? It’s great for recruiting, it’s great for our players and it’s also great for our fans.
I lol'd very loudly IRL when I read this quote, just amazing

It is not great to be there if they think they are on vacation to wear shirts that look like someone barfed a Big Mac on them, or to watch grass covered butt shakers, or to squeeze coconuts instead of playing basketball. Lose a couple more games like we did to LBSU, we will be lucky to recruit Jack Krapper clones.

So many questions. Were the cat scratch unis a result of Huggs' crap relationship w/Nike? Was Frank some sort of affirmative action hire only for USA Basketball? Does Dave Odom know the circumstances of oscar "leaving" Illinois and is he a bigger piece of crap than Gene Keady?

I'm not doing #BruceInBed anymore either so get used to it.
Like the @At_Signal, I'd be proud if a team of heroes took up the cause.
-
it's just so over the top. like over the top and then as it started to go over the top, there was a trampoline and it hit the trampoline and went more over the top, which usually isn't possible because there isn't a trampoline there most of the time.
-
I'd totally watch a documentary about the making of that article.
-
holy crap! the trampoline jump just landed into a cannon and this whole thing is now going to be shot even further over the top! is this even possible!? how is this possible? who wrote this and why?! is the cannon the last or is this thing going even further over the top. i'm only halfway through the article. what will i read next????

You think you are half way through, wait until you hit the worm hole and then you go over over the top but your still going up!
Gonna win 'em all!

i, for one, am just really happy to be playing in the premiere college basketball preseason tourney

well obviously. i mean, it's "a moment k-state fans have been waiting for since 1998, their last trip to maui." dang near twenty years you've been waiting for this clams, of course you're happy.
-
and we owe it all to king oscar, what a complete stud
-
I guess this means Illinois won't be going back until Dave Odom dies. :frown:
Thank goodness we won the thing the last time oscar parted the velvet ropes for us. #blessed #gonebutnotforgotten #popekingbruceI

What a time November 1998 was to be a 'cat. Football was on its way to a national championship, and more importantly, the hoops squad had secured an invite to THE Maui Invitational. Wow!
-
Who did Frank Haith blow to get Mizzou an invite?
Or, were they too a last minute addition, presumably thanks to Kim Anderson's relationship to THE Dave Odom?

what you have to remember is that we had THE Tom Asbury as our coach at the time. Asbury, a respected man in the coaching profession with strong ties to Nike and USA basketball, changed the equation.

“It’s my goal to get the best we can get every year, though the 2015 field is one of those cyclical years where everything fell into place. We’ve got several Brand A schools.”

Yeah, but we will more than likely be invited back...right? :dunno:
