Wanted to go Saturday but didn't make it. Could anyone see around the scoreboard to watch the players? How is Marcus in the biscuit department? Did the guys respond or was there a little Nebraska hangover? Any scoops?
-
Like 4 of our players didn't play.
-
We won
-
HANDLED
-
1-0!
-
How many dunk shots?
-
walked in for about a minute to see the video board. while in there i saw just Hopper stuff a Big Meat lay up attempt.
that is my report.
-
I didn't see any of it, but I did walk through right after and peeked in to see the board. The team was having a big team hug around the mid court circle. It was nice.

This is KSU basketball now - people are more interested in a big ole TV than their Cats.
-
We will be good. That TV is big. Source- A
-
Not exactly breaking news here, but I watched about 20 minutes and had a few observations... The part of the scrimmage I watched was 3on2/2on1 for 5 minutes and 4on4 full court for 15 minutes.
- As Stevesie mentioned Wes, Bolden, Malek, and Beucler weren't participating.
- Edwards is a big fan of the dunk shot, and he's very good at it. I don't recall him shooting anything from the outside.
- Jevon looks bigger in the arms and shoulders. He never took a shot in 4on4.
- Hurt is a giant human being. He looked very comfortable shooting 20-footers... I think he went like 2/5 while I was watching. He doesn't appear to be the quickest or most powerful guy, but he moves very fluidly.
- Gip, Marcus, and just about everyone else looked the same.
-
Hopper!!

There were significant times with the prior regime where many people where more interested in watching or waiting for the explosive tirades than actually watching the team.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen someone write on the internet. Nobody in the history of sports has tuned in to watch a coach do anything. Are you really that rough ridin' dumb?

people have also called this football season "boring." there are a lot of stupid people.

Seriously? You don't think people tune into to watch certain sports people with well known tempers just to see if they'd blow up? If you don't think that's the case, then please don't tell anyone that you actually attended K-State (if you actually did) and if you earned a diploma, don't tell a soul.
Thanks friend.

I have tuned in to Nebraska football (back when they used to be on TV) to watch Bo Pelini act like a jack ass.
-
I guess I gave humanity too much credit. I honestly can't fathom why somebody would turn on the television to watch a coach do anything. That seems like an enormous waste of time.
-
jeez
-
so we looked good?

There are dozens of tv channels with exclusive programming targeted towards people who take pleasure in watching other people act like jackasses. MTV, E!, Bravo, VH1 and Spike to name a few.

That's the point though, at any given moment there are people doing much more outrageous things than Frank Martin or Bo Pelini on TV, and the entire 30 minute show is jam packed with that kind of nonsense. Why would anyone spend 2-3 hours watching a sporting event that they didn't care about to see a coach flip his lid for maybe five minutes total. That's what astounds me.
-
so we looked good?
well, yeah, but not Frank Martin good.
-
I think I might value spring game breakdowns more than I value basketball scrimmage breakdowns. I'm not sure though.
-
Nobody in the history of sports has tuned in to watch a coach do anything.
dax did this regularly from 2007-2012

The practice was very boring. It sucked that so many guys had to sit out.
Hurt moves very well for a big. He dwarfs Gip(I know, I know) but has similar movement skills. There weren't opportunities to judge the rest of his game except to see that his shot looks OK from 20ft. I'm excited about him.
Foster looks to be in shape. He's going to be excellent again this year. Edwards can jump but I don't recall him making shots. I do remember that Jevon missed some 3s. Tre Harris made some from the corner.
-
expect big things when you get this much excitement from a football-only poster, wow

Jevon was 1 for 2 shooting the ball. The shot doctor has made a visit to his home. It looks a lot better. It is a now a smoother movement and has better arc.
Nigel was effective shooting the ball from outside, still has the hitch in his shot.
Hurt has a fast release, he is going to drive defenses crazy, him screening and popping is going to become a real asset for us.
Gip is going to be really good this year. He has to be the most underrated player in the conference. He appears to have a solid jumper. He even looked better on facing up and making a move off the bounce.
Tre Harris is far better than I thought he would be. It was a pleasant surprise. He looks like he defend at the Big 12 level.
Edwards didn't have many opportunities to shoot that ball. He did show off his speed, he should have a couple break way dunks a game.

Does anyone else remember the Ku ksu basketball game when they kept a camera on each coach all game?
-
Thanks to the posters who gave us starving crazed fans real meat to chew on. The scoreboard sounds like a good addition it should wow new recruits and please fans. Hopefully it scares and intiminates the opponents. I like it when the team is the focus and not the antics of a coach hollering, cussing, foaming at the mouth with his eyes bugging out. Weber can seem bland, but it sounds like he and his staff has put together a very competitive team. Bubbles account of Hurt made my day.
-
renocat do you have any fear that the scoreboard will be the focus and not the team?

Well, for one, it's still football. I mean I'd rather watch like any Big 12 teams play as opposed to like Tulane/So Miss. A few years ago you might only find 3 or 4 games on at a any given moment. I'll take a good ole Nubb/UT matchup in which Bo will surely flip his crap compared to like even Ohio St/Michigan. The flipping crap is a bonus for sure, but it's a tangible bonus. Without Bo I might watch the Ohio St/Michigan. I'll admit one of my favorite parts of watching us beat KU in basketball is when Bill calls a timeout and is yanking at his collar all red faced and his hair flopping all over the place. Love that. It was fun with Frank too but that actually got old to me.

No! Our fans are too smart! Likely will increase the level of hollering and cussing when replays are shown of bad calls. When the fighting phoghorn chickens from Lawrence come to town I would the circles so fast that the birdies stagger in circles. Big 12 CHAMP post will be cool.
