I still say KU's the team to beat once they sign Josh Selby.  He's going to be the #1 overall prospect in Rivals' final top 100 rankings.

Ben is just a ghost, an appirition, of what he once was.  The utter collapse of the ku athletic program has eaten from the inside like stage 4 cancer.

Sucks to see him like this.  When the FBI is done he might finally flat line.

Probably.  I'm just irritated.  I'm a about another newsless week away from a full blown recruiting meltdown of "turn out the lights" proportions.  Starting to honestly believe they are only recruting 4 to 5 players for 4 to 5 scholarships.  Getting pretty jealous of other big 12 programs with actual elite level recruiting prospects.

Say do our guys plan on recruiting, or are they going to go the Lon Kruger route and just phone it in from here on??

I saw where the Powertards were all giddy about Frank being at the Sale Barn the other day . . . that's not the kind of beef you need to find Frank.   Maybe Te420k was off  his ass and recruiting.

my guess is that most recruits think that at this point we are too elite for them to get any significant playing time anywhere in the near future (until their Jr year at least).  instead, they go where the cupboards are bare and they're sure to see some minutes as a Frosh, see Selby @ KU.

FYI to all of the elite recruiting n00bs on here:  When you're totally loaded with Elite 8 talent stacked from top to bottom, you chill on the recruiting for a minute.  Save those $hips.  Ur gonna need em when it's time for GRCOAT v.3.0.  Remember: you don't see GRCOAT coming.  It just hits you all at once when you least expect it.

this oregon thing was like a ridic fantasy for mu fans.  no worries, 'cause the first you hear of it is when the coach is turning it down.  and then it comes out that he didn't even want to be bothered to listen to an offer that was 1+ million higher than his current sal.  is there another coach in the big 12 with that kind of affection for his employing school?

gosh darn angry. I hate this about college sports, the ability to just ignore a current contract. What is the point of signing a coach to a multi-year deal when the coach can accept offers throughout the contract years? It just frustrates me that Mizzou has to "counter" an offer from Oregon to keep a coach that we already have under a 7 year contract! ugh.

Mizzou Gives Oregon Permission to Talk With Anderson

Missouri spokesman Dave Reiter said Friday morning that Oregon had asked for and had received permission - on Thursday evening - to speak with MU Head Basketball Coach Mike Anderson about the Duck's vacant hoops position.

"They asked for permission last night to talk to coach and it was granted," Reiter told The Star just a few moments ago.

Now, what that all means won't be known until later today when Reiter anticipates releasing a statement from Anderson, who on Friday was playing in mentor Nolan Richardson's charity golf tournament in El Paso, Texas.

"Once he's able to we'll get a statement from him," Reiter said.

The (Portland) Oregonian has posted a story on its web site contending that Anderson and the head of the search committee to find a new hoops coach for the Ducks, met in El Paso on Thursday night and discussed Anderson taking the post as the head quacker.

Couple of things. One, I don't believe Anderson is leaving Missouri.

Two, a current member of the MU team I contacted this morning said he had heard nothing.

Will we get a statement from Anderson saying that despite what could be up to a $3 million offer from Oregon, he will stay at MU? Don't know.

Again, I don't believe Anderson is going anywhere right now if only because he's just signed both sons of one of his best friends to be Tigers and he's not going to tell Paul Pressey he won't be in Columbia to coach them.

Here's a link to the story in The Oregonian (a similar piece is on the web site of the Eugene Register Guard:

I don't believe Anderson is going anywhere right now if only because he's just signed both sons of one of his best friends to be Tigers and he's not going to tell Paul Pressey he won't be in Columbia to coach them.
= Bob Huggins would be foolish to walk away from the #1 recruiting class in the country.

Why wouldn't Mike wanna go to Oregon? Beautiful new arena, you are Nike's favorite team, and you will be paid a BUNCH.

Go Mike, just go...

Would take a special kind of Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) to turn this down.

Tigerboarders continue to link stories from yesterday that state Mike Anderson has no interest in the job thinking they are current stories.  Talk about special kinds of retards...

So would Mitchell get released from his commitment? :fatty:
Could he be eligible?

Tony, look at what your coach is doing. You don't want to play for that, do you?

Tony might not like it, but I'm sure his mom can appreciate.

How much did Oklahoma State offer Bill Self?  I'm pretty sure T. Boone was going to make him the highest paid coach in the country.

he listened.  and forced ku to make him the highest paid coach in the big 12 to stay.  anderson was just like "sorry, i love mu too much to play these hurtful games".

That's the difference.  He bent ku over and Perkins'd them without lube.
I like that analogy.  Truth is, MA knows that with his recruiting class, MU will match  (or come close) Oregon's offer.

I'm sure he could, but I don't like our chances considering we had that fat slob Underwood telling anyone that would listen that Mitchell and his family were filthy cheaters.

Yeah Tony really wanted to be EMAW, he was already close to it by putting how happy we has to be a Cat in his facebook and twitter. Then mommy wanted to feel loved so she went over to Big Sexy MA.

This is becoming an annual tradition.  Anderson talks to another school in order to get a raise and Missouri fans pretend it's all his agent's doing and that "Anderson is classy and isn't about the money" when it is clear that Mike Anderson is ALL about the money.

May have to bump this thread every year.

I already knew Anderson was a lying POS slime ball, but it's fun that others are starting to figure this out.

I still say KU's the team to beat once they sign Josh Selby.  He's going to be the #1 overall prospect in Rivals' final top 100 rankings.

KU will be the unanimous #1 once Terrence Jones commits.  Sorry, Big 12.  It's a race for second once again.
