I believe Texas is overrated. Texas was 11-7 in the big 12 last year and kenpom considered them the 14th most luckiest team in college basketball. I think they simple out produced their true quality. They lose two more games in big 12 and they finish tied with Baylor and WVU.

The one thing I think Texas has going for it is improved quality of depth. Improvements from last years freshmen of Martez Walker, Kendal Yancy and Demarcus Croaker should sure up their bench.

OU lost is best player last year in Cameron Clark, not only was he their best player but also allowed OU to spread the floor when he played the stretch 4 position. OU doesn't have a stretch 4 in the roster or a long small forward. Good chance playing bigger helps OU defense excel this year but I could see their offense take a major step back.

I think Texas is going to be very tough. Barnes is a hell of a coach.

It's hard to vote against a team that returns pretty much everyone and adds Myles Turner.

It was a bit of a departure for Kruger to emphasize O over D last year but he did (and it is a sign of how good a coach he is).  This years team will be more conventional and I anticipate Heild and all the other young guards will have little trouble creating enough offense to make up for Clark's loss from the perimeter and I would say Spangler and the TaShawn Thomas (UofH grad school transfer that averaged 15 & 8 in the AAC) might be the best 4&5 combo in the league.

Spangler isn't going to love the lack of space in the paint this year. Should take a step back statistical.
