So... Lil bro kicks off about 7 minutes prior to the first pitch of game 2 of the ALCS.
Will there be anybody there?
:sdeek:
-
Oh wow! 15K announced, 5K actual attendance.
-
will there be anybody there? wtf, it's a football game, of course people will go
-
55 people
-
35K
-
7,500 +/- a fudge factor of 30,396
-
10k*
*This assumes KU runs a massive promotional campaign to give out free BBall tickets to each fan in attendance
-
Hangin K's at the WWI Memorial
-
Announced=41k
Actual=27k
Most phoggies have this circled as a win
-
Biggest question . . . will the Bob Fredrick Memorial Clicker Ticket Counter be working? If so, pick an attendance number that ends with 000.
-

I wasn't counting the game staff &/or traveling Okie Lite backers.
No way they have as big of a crowd as a K-State spring game, tho.
-
They should show the Royals game on the kindaJumbotron during the game and give out free popcorn. That place would be jammed.
-
this could be pretty hilarious
-
should zenger consider having a basketball scrimmage during halftime? wouldn't ensure anything for the second half but at least the first would look respectable
-
If there is a such thing as Baby Slugger, he should be there shooting t-shirts into the crowd and pulling some hyjinx with Baby Jay.
-
I'm gonna go with 12.
-
Some guy was upset today cause they're midnight madness for KU basketball is Friday night and he doesn't know what to do with the Royals game going on. Bball practice or the Royals 4 games away from the world series? Hmmmm.....
-
if you think ku fans will miss out on seeing the player's dress up in embarassing costumes and Bill Self on a harley, you're sorely mistaken.
-

Thunderstruck, bruh

That person is no friend of CF3
-
All of this depends on how many free tickets they are giving out. If they are giving them out and Lawrence is for poors, it may be a good crowd.
-
Waahhhaaaahhhhhh ah ah trumps Royals every time
-
What a great opportunity to see jayhawk football for a reasonable price tho. Stubhub currently has 47 tickets available in the first two rows on the 50 yd line, donor seats, for $25-30.

Seems like it'd be easy money for a Lowrents local or ku student to pick up a stack of freebies at Taco Johns, then just list them on stubhub for $8-9 each and sell 20-25 of them to unsuspecting rubes from visiting schools that don't know they're free.
:whistle1:

What a terrible time for the handful of ku football fans.
Royals in ALCS
Midnight Madness the night before
Interim Coach
It really is the Toilet Bowl Era II

a smart AD would tie all of that together. just saying
-
More people will be working the game than attending it
-
Midnight madness is a whole another kind of pathetic from the isu ref screwed us video montage

That seems like the opposite of terrible IMO for them, that's the perfect amount of other distracting things to keep them thinking about what the football team is or is not doing.

Nah. When it's ku, then you've got all the clinger basketball only crowd to deal with.
-
I counted 138 in attendance.
-
It remained 20-10 until early in the fourth quarter, when Kansas needed four plays to go 83 yards. Avery capped the drive with a 23-yard touchdown run, energizing a paltry crowd of roughly 15,000 -- the combination of Late Night in the Phog the previous night, fall break for students and the Royals-Orioles playoff game did a number on attendance.

phogtucky.net is poppin the champagne celebrating the moral victory tonight :Woohoo: Too bad none of them follow college football and realize how shitty Okie Light is this year
-
I think the box score said 31,985. Surprisingly good. Kudos to the KU fans that went... That was certainly more than I expected.

I'm gonna need some photographic evidence.

Stock fan photos for tv and cheer tracks after each play right around the corner.

Not surprisingly, I'm having a tough time finding pictures of the crowd.
The caption for this image says it was in the first half.

This one is looking back towards the pressbox side and the crowd looks a little fuller

One last pic.

I think an estimate between 20,000 and 32,000 is reasonable.

-
Between 20k and 32k is about equally as reasonable as whatever the opposite of reasonable is
-
That section from the goal line to the 30 on the left is the student section btw

"Refusing to go through these gates are the Worst Fans in College Football."
-
If KU had 30k fans there then our stadium holds 200k.
-

I feel really bad for these students that KU couldn't get the W. They would have felt like the biggest studs in the universe to be one of the 20 students in attendance on the day that KU beat OSU.
-
There seems to be a high cotton candy to fan ratio in that stadium. No way that guy sells out.
-

try to imagine what the crowd would look like without all that orange. stillwater is like four hours away from lawrence and they travel decently well. what if that game was against wvu or tcu? yikes.
-
Poor guys. Wish I lived closer so I could go out and support those kids.
:frown:
-
Clicked over to the game a couple times between innings and it seriously looked like when they have a football game at Cessna stadium, and not the KMC games, the times they have like NAIA schools from Oklahoma.
-

Good call. You obviously have an eye for concessionaires.
-
They should move the rest of their home games to Haskell Stadium.
-

Or one of the high school practice fields.
-
I actually went to the game in Lawrence this weekend. Hardly any of my KU friends went into the game so finding a ticket wasn't hard. The attendance at the beginning of the game was actually not as bad as those pictures; of course a lot of the people were Pokes fans. The saddest part was the student section. Maybe a row or two in one section of people standing. I left partway through the second to watch the Royals. I was kinda wanting for KU to make the comeback so I could go back in the stadium and rush their field but ehh.
-
Wish that picture would have captured college footballs biggest deceleration area.
But the non track turf track looks better.
-
The harley track looks good.
-
They're having a huge moral victory party over on the phog right now.

There's too many to post.

Maybe we should play all of our games against them at their house for the next few years. Get some easy proximity for the KC guys that don't get to manhattan much (me), and boost their attendance for the year. Win/win, imo.
-
it is pretty awesome they get to celebrate some kind of victory in big 12 play :tsc:
-
They will beat ISU. Book it! :sdeek:

If chuck hadn't already been fired, that game would be a winner take all type thing for the coaches, I bet.
