Title: The Lying Game
Post by: K-S-U-Wildcats! on October 06, 2014, 08:49:43 AM
Alison Lundergan Grimes' senate campaign to unseat Mitch McConnell, already on life support, just went poof. But it sure is fun to hear Democrat operatives reveal their true colors in private. http://freebeacon.com/politics/grimes-staffers-suggest-kentucky-dem-lies-about-coal-support/ (http://freebeacon.com/politics/grimes-staffers-suggest-kentucky-dem-lies-about-coal-support/)

Quote
U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes is lying about her support for the state’s coal industry according to Kentucky Democrats, including members of her campaign team, who were captured on a hidden camera video.

The video, produced by conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe, shows five employees of the Grimes campaign and local Democratic Party affiliates speculating that the Democratic challenger to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) is only professing her support for the industry out of political expediency.

“If we can get her elected do you think she is going to do the right thing and she’s gonna try to wipe out that coal industry and go for better resources?” asks an undercover videographer in one segment of the video.

“I absolutely think she is,” responds Fayette County Democratic Party operative Gina Bess.

...

“She’s saying something positive about coal because she wants to be elected,” said Ros Hines, a staffer in Grimes’ Lexington campaign office. “And in the state of Kentucky, if you are anti-coal, you will not get elected, period, end of conversation.”

Some Grimes supporters captured in the hidden-camera video likewise suggest that Grimes is lying about her support for the industry in order to get elected.

“She has to say that,” remarked Juanita Rodriguez of the Warren County Democratic Party. “But you know what? Politics is a game. You do what you have to do to get [elected]. … It’s a lying game unfortunately.”

I guess the more relevant issue is that it seems like libtards have to lie to their constituents a lot more than conservatives in order to get elected. Libtards in all but the bluest states basically run as Republicans when it comes to taxes, gun control, energy, deficits, abortion, etc.

By contrast, what are the policies that Republicans have to lie about to their constituents in order to get elected? Seems that a lot of them lie about immigration, so there's one. That's about all I can come up. They genuinely want lower taxes, less federal spending, smaller deficits, more oil/natural gas production, second amendment rights, restrictions on abortion, etc. and they run on those issues.

There should be laws against just about everything that every PAC does, honestly.

Didn't O'Keefe just catch a bunch of lib oriented PAC's breaking Texas campaign and elections laws?

Yup.

In Colorado a bunch of republicans are lying about contraception coverage and abortion.  Saying they want to put it in the people's hands while they have actively legislated against it.

Sadly, I don't live in Colorado, but I've heard the Democrats are agressively pushing the whole "war on women" meme there. Seems pretty desperate and silly that, of all the problems we're facing, contraception is about all Democrats want to talk about. Anyway, are you refering to this? http://www.factcheck.org/2014/09/colorados-contraception-controversy/ (http://www.factcheck.org/2014/09/colorados-contraception-controversy/)

Brownback has an ad saying he raised school funding, meanwhile the Kansas aside he cut school funding to an unconstitutional level. But hey liberals are the worst, amiright?

The Kansas SC did not "aside" that. But regardless, I'm not talking about any one particular politician or policy. Politicians of both parties lie all the time. It just seems that liberal politicians have to lie about a lot more of their positions to get elected.
1. They want more gun control, but can't say that.
2. They want higher taxes, but can't say that.
3. They want amnesty, but can't say that.
4. They want to cut back oil and coal production, and higher gas prices, but can't say that.
5. They want more federal spending (except for the military), but can't say that.
6. They want to cut spending on the military, but can't say that.
7. They want unrestricted access to abortion, but can't say that.

What's the Republican list?
1. They want amnesty, but can't say that (true for at least some of the GOP).
2. They don't think the federal government should be buying women's birth control, but can't say that.

Go ahead and add more to the lists. As a neutral moderate, I'll decide whether they're valid.

Cuts to SS and or Medicare come to mind.

Ok. That's a good one. Republicans don't really want to "cut" either, but there's actually bipartisan behind the scneses agreement that both systems need to be reformed (particularly Medicare), and most Republicans don't want to say anything other than "leave SS and Medicare alone" during elections.

School funding went up, just not enough allocated to Hutch based on some arcane formula.

Sorry sev, but your entries are all either too vague or outright false and are therefore declined. The use of the word "neocon" further confuses matters. If you mean that to refer to southerners, a few of yours might be true.
