Was worth it for the music alone. No one handles large groups of characters better than David Simon. I've really been looking forward to this, and was not disappointed at all.

Absolutely. It can't be judged on the first episode alone. The Wire's first episode was pretty meh due to the fact that it had seemingly dozens of characters to introduce. I didn't catch Treme, but I'd wager that was the case as well.
