does UTEP stink that bad at protection.... or has Snyder found a way to negate the new 3-man-protect punting formation that is all the rage with the kids these days.
Typical Snyder....coaching trends look left...and he goes right.
-
Just the ole ball coach passing on all he's learned to Sean "the Brain" Snyder.
Good to see Sean be innovative in his punt blocking schemes. The future is bright!

oh we're crediting Sean. ? Well there's that too.

UTEP's punt unit was terrible. 3 blocks and 150 yards in punt returns allowed with a TD. Some of that was us, but their special teams guy didn't have them prepared at all for us.

If Bill was such a genius we would have run either the block punt play or the punt return for a touchdown play against Auburn every time. I for one have never understood why coaches don't just call touchdown plays every time.
-
The punter was very slooooooow with the ball.
-
their punt team was awful. blocking, coverage, and especially the punting itself. just remarkably bad.
