Seriously though, if you really need a lift to KC, I will be heading East around 9ish Friday and would be happy to drop you off at the airport. PM if interested.

The KC airport is in Nebraska. The Plaza is in Johnson County. You do the math.

Ignore Fake Sugar. The Plaza is just a few miles south of downtown KC Missouri. It is a slight detour off of I-70, but not nearly as far as the airport is north of downtown. Actually, I think Kat Kid's original post said the Plaza, not the airport. It is a beautiful area that you might not see otherwise. Also, the Plaza is not in Johnson County KS. The Country Club Plaza is very close to the NE corner of Johnson County, but the Plaza is on the Missouri side of the state line. The state line literally runs through the middle of the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.
The Country Club Plaza:

Where are you going to from Manhattan where KCI is on the way? Amish Town, Missouri?

Tennessee.
I am driving through KC and thought that is where he is going.

Sigh. KC is where Kat Kid said he is going. The Plaza is about 35 city blocks south of I-670, the direct route through KC MO. It is pretty much on the way of where you will be driving through KC anyway. Yes, it is a slight detour, but not very far.

I will be very happy to give him a lift. I don't mind helping folks out, you know?

Drop him off at the McD's on prospect and I-70. He should be able to find a nice guy to give him a lift from there. Win-Win

Sue, have you ever been to KC? I can show you around some time.

Yep, I grew up on the Kansas side of the metro area, but it has been 25+ years since I've lived there. I worked in Crown Center Pershing Buildings offices & another office a few blocks north of there for several years, so I'm used to the city commute. I rarely had anything that necessitated going to the neighborhoods east of downtown KCMO, though--I knew the Kansas side was the place to be. :)

A lot is changed in 25 years. There is literally no reason to ever go north of I-435, into Missouri or west of Antioch. It's like heaven on earth.
