Based on everything I've seen from both teams so far I'd have to give the edge to Kansas State. Something like 45-42. Auburn just hasn't been tested in any meaningful way yet so I can't see their defense being up to the task. Don't get me wrong I think they are a very good team, but probably not top ten like the 'Cats.

That is where you are wrong. We lost very few players this year - these guys are mostly veterans. I do think it will be a good game though.

No horsing around predicto:
72-31. Cats win.

I'm not convinced Auburn shows up. Forfeit.

Nice post, mocat
-
Guys, how many Auburn players do you think will say "Wow" the first time they step foot on our turf? I bet they all do. Our stadium is glorious, even when it's empty. No less than 3 of them will crap their pants on the sideline the first time they hear the K-S-U chant. It's going to take at least 15 minutes of football clock time before they can gain enough composure to play good football, and if we can smack them in the mouth with about 20 points, they just might give up before they even start playing.
-
Saw the O/U at 145.5. Sounds about right.
-
I think K-State wins comfortably. It will probably be 10-7 KSU at halftime, then Bill will open up the play book.
KSU 52
Auburn 7
That's CF3's no horsing around prediction of the week.

We get it... ALL the teams in the SEC-SEC-SEC lose multiple early round draft picks and other key contributors and just replace them with even better players. Not to mention having a 3-deep with no drop off from the starters to the 3's...
:jerk:

Like 84-56 cats. The Bram is a tough environment for other teams to run offense and oscar runs train on our OOC schedule.

Serious predicto:
Simply based off the fact that their #86 ranked defense from last year has made NO marked improvement, they have given up an AVERAGE of 49 points per game to Big12 middle of the pack teams the past two yrs and offensively they are just south of Baylor.
K-State 'Cats - 52
War Slavers - 24

There is truth in this statement. There is discord within Auburn's little brother program.
-
Calling Alabama "Auburn's little brother" is cute, but nobody thinks of your program as premier or "blue blood" as we like to say around here.
Because of my job, I travel pretty extensively and have the opportunity to speak with CFB fans nationwide. A simple straw poll at airport watering holes has revealed the following list of top tier/blue blood programs recognized worldwide:
(in no relative order)
Notre Dame
Oklahoma
USC
Michigan
Kansas State
Texas
Alabama
Ohio State
This is an all-inclusive list and not subject to debate.

Partway true, That was a one point safety in favor of Oregon though, after they scored a TD. For there to be exactly 1 point scored the team being shut out has to cause a safety to occur in the opposite endzone as the extra point happened. So, unlike Oregon where we blocked it, ran it out of that endzone and then ran back in for the safety. We'd have to either block the extra point so hard it travels almost 110 yards out of the back of the other endzone, or it be like a cal-stanford in reverse and tackle their guy in the endzone, or the holder takes the snap and bolts all the way the other direction and gets himself tackled or runs out of the endzone. Regardless of the means, if that crazy crap ever happened it would happen to us :crossfingers:

I thought we were going for an extra point. Kicked it. They recovered then we stole it back but got tackled in the endzone or something like that giving them a 1 point safety or something like that. Don't recall it exactly, but remember there being a 1 point safety.

THIS is why gE is the BEST! You can't get this kind of in-depth analysis and HFBIQ anywhere else. I stand/sit partially corrected - so the score would be 13-1 (or some variation), correct? (tbh, I was so disgusted with the Fiesta Bowl, I don't remember a whole lot about that game)

After watching their last game and noticing they have no running game to speak of other than their QB, who really needs to learn how to slide or he won't make it through the season, I kind of agree with your prediction. KSU won't score that many though - although they will make a few big plays against our secondary. To be fair though I will say that their OL impressed me in pass protection. They are very good at picking up blitzes.

No running game? :fatty:
I stand by my statement.
I will also expand on my prediction: KSU will easily score on their first possession, but then the AU defense will tighten up. Auburn will run the ball at will, and after a few bad passes by Marshall, AU will effectively give up on the passing game.

I am being unfair to Marshall. Since last season he has vastly improved his throwing motion and footwork. He still can't complete a pass but he looks a lot better at it now.

Say, what?!?!?!? Last year's 86th ranked defense (that has yet to be all that stout this season), that has a VERY suspect secondary, is suddenly gonna turn into the '85 Bears during their first road trip?

Further, you've yet to hold a Big12 offense under 40 points since aggy (63 in '12 & 45 in '13) and meth aggy (42 in '12) joined your shitty conference, but now you're gonna waltz into our stadium and hold an historically higher power, more effecient offense to 30 points or less?
Give me a rough ridin' break.

Well, if we held SJSU to one touchdown we are sure to do as well or better with KSU. Arkansas ran all over us in the first half but we shut them down in the second. But that was an SEC team so we could hardly hold you guys to the same lofty standard.

Is there anything weirder than SEC schools' obsession with other SEC schools? Constantly patting each other on the back. :Ugh:

After watching their last game and noticing they have no running game to speak of other than their QB, who really needs to learn how to slide or he won't make it through the season, I kind of agree with your prediction. KSU won't score that many though - although they will make a few big plays against our secondary. To be fair though I will say that their OL impressed me in pass protection. They are very good at picking up blitzes.

14-1?
Would take.
Me too, but I've thought about this every which way, and I don't think you can score 1 point all by itself in football.
My serious score prediction:
Cats 38
Tigers 35
(Cantele hits the game winner and is Big XII ST POW) :emawkid:
My my. How quickly you have forgotten the Fiesta cluster eff vs Oregon.
That play did highlight the possibility of a 1 point final score. You are correct that it couldn't occur on a play like the one we saw at the Tostytm. Such a play could arise IF:
Opposing team brings one in the endzone.
On the resulting play the ball is recovered live.
Your team runs the ball down to the other endzone.
Prior to picking up the two points, the opposing team recovers the ball.
Your team then forces the opposing team's runner into the EZ and he is sacked for a saftey.
X-1, Them-You
This retains the "it can't ever happen" status in official record books on forfeited games of 0-1, because it requires the other team to have at least 6.

The Cats that barely got past ISU: 24
The reigning SEC Champs: 38
i don't think you realize it barner-boy but outside of Bama and LSU, the rest of the SEC is at about Iowa State's level (barners included). these guys are about to rudely awaken yall from your miracle dream season and we'll put the final nail in the coffin on november 29
if this were true, does this mean that it would take a 4th quarter comeback for you guys to beat us? :)

Eff the rest of the SEC, they can all eat a fat...well, you know. Don't know if this place is fambly friendly or not.

I can't speak for the rest of the country outside of Texas, but the SEC-SEC-SEC obsession is even greater for them when taken out of their native area... It's almost like once they leave the geographical boundaries of the conference, there's some sort of mission requirement not unlike the mormons on the bikes.

This predicto is not open to debate, BECAUSE MATH!!

Take it easy on us at least. We're visitors damnit. Putting up 52 on us would not be very white of you.

I thought I clicked on the "serious K-state v Auburn score prediction thread (no horsing around) and then I ended up in this place. Most of you can't be serious that have KSU blowing out Auburn.

Whose sock is this? No rational AU fan would post junk like this.

Let them have their fun. Reality will be setting in like finding out their date is really a dude 7 days from now. Have pity on these poor souls. We will be stepping over their prostrate bodies as they acknowledge the majesty of Auburn Football.

I'm going to assume a lot of you are actually horsing around. Any team that returns their QB after winning Conference USA should be taken pretty seriously.
