Title: Deep Web
Post by: The Big Train on September 05, 2014, 10:27:47 PM
Do you guys go there?
What was the most interesting/disturbing thing you found so far?
How do you feel about it?
What secrets have you posted there?
Does Tor have any up and coming competition?
How big is it?
Why is there a need for it? Or is there?
What kind of site would you start in the Deep Web?
Why do you go there?
Never heard of it?
Scared?
Confused?

Although I can't say anything about the DI, this could be considered an update thread by those who take the risk of saying anything about the DI.

Apparently you don't understand. Without saying more (which I can't) get away from the Deep. You don't need to help me because I understand the DI. I need no help. I am safe. You are the one who needs to get away before it's too late.

Phlebas the Phoenician, a fortnight dead,
Forgot the cry of gulls, and the deep seas swell
And the profit and loss.
                          A current under sea
Picked his bones in whispers. As he rose and fell
He passed the stages of his age and youth
Entering the whirlpool.
                          Gentile or Jew
O you who turn the wheel and look to windward,
Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you.

the little "i" icon in the top right kind of explains it, but basically they have sensors at different intersections of wired internet connections around the world.  based on where the traffic is coming from and where it is going, they can determine if it is of a malicious source.

a DDoS(distributed denial of service) is basically an intentional request flooding attack on a server.  a DoS attack is basically a single computer sending out page requests non-stop to a server, the server can only handle so many page requests at a time, but if they find the source of the requests they can block that computer.  in a DDoS attack it can be hundreds or even millions of machines all sending page requests to a server, much harder to stop because you dont know if those requests are coming from real people or are part of the attack itself.

the little "i" icon in the top right kind of explains it, but basically they have sensors at different intersections of wired internet connections around the world.  based on where the traffic is coming from and where it is going, they can determine if it is of a malicious source.

a DDoS(distributed denial of service) is basically an intentional request flooding attack on a server.  a DoS attack is basically a single computer sending out page requests non-stop to a server, the server can only handle so many page requests at a time, but if they find the source of the requests they can block that computer.  in a DDoS attack it can be hundreds or even millions of machines all sending page requests to a server, much harder to stop because you dont know if those requests are coming from real people or are part of the attack itself.
I've seen this website before. Its picked up controversy like wikileaks but since most people don't understand this wizardry it hasn't been shutdown.

That is mapping hacking operations?

it tracks DDoS attacks based on censors that Norse has around the world's internet infrastucture
Can you dumb that down for me?

Norse is a very highly regarded DDoS security company, I think you are thinking of something else.
