Title: LLWS

Do any of these players make it to the big leagues or go on to be adult studs? I don't think I've ever heard of one.

#fanningbrag alert: When I was 12, my all star team made it to state. It was really dramatic. Tied game, runners on 3rd and second, and they tried to intintialy walk our best hitter. He leaned over the plate, put it in right field and we won our district. At state, we made it all the way to the championship game before losing to the state winner who headed to the LLWS that summer. Anyways, this guy had a no hitter into the 6th against us and I broke it up down on an 0-2 count with a curve ball over the middle. :gocho:

By headed to the LLWS that summer you mean the Central Regional right?

Thats exciting! :D

My cousin is apparently a pretty good catcher in NY. I hope turns out to be a total stud boss. I guess he is playing in a tournament in Cooperstown this weekend.

Hmm a Kansas team? I'm pretty positive a Kansas team has never made it to the LLWS in Williamsport...

the LLWS is a complete sham.  it's a made for television event.  these are not the best teams.
12/13 year olds playing on 60' base paths with 46' pitching is ridiculous, those dimensions are what 9 year olds play on

It's actually kids aged 10-12, 'Clams! :shakesfist: You start playing on normal dimensions when you're 13.

It really is. At that age USSSA, which is a far more pervasive youth baseball organization, plays 70' bases, 50' mound, minimum 230' down the lines (but usually longer) and minimum 275' in center.  The no leadoffs thing is the worst. Might as well be Blue Valley Rec machine pitch.

the age bracket is 10-12, but some turn 13 by the time they're in williamsport.
regardless, even if they're 12, they're still too old to be playing on those 9 yr old dimensions.

It's the best feeling ever! We had a homerun derby contest at our state championships in Iowa. The winner hit like 30.  I hit 4.  :frown:

yep, those are the dimensions of the 10 and under Cal Ripken league down here. My son and I like watching it, but he laughs when he see's 11, 12, 13 year olds playing on those tiny fields (he just turned 14).  Anyway's, mo'ne did not do so well last night.....

I can't believe all the butthurt about field dimensons for a bunch of kids. Pitching dominates at that age anyways. If you were a decent pitcher and not ending a game with over 12 K's at that age, you were doing it wrong. There's still a small amount of HR's at that age, cause it's so hard to hit.

pitching dominates even more when you're 5 feet closer to the batter than you should be.

Well, yeah, the apparent 5-10 mph increase because of the difference in mound distance from LLWS to normal youth league has a bit to do with that.
