you know how a song gets you rough ridin' jazzed for whatever reason and you think it would make an awesome start to your day by calling you out of your slumber and then after weeks or months or years of cumulative trauma hearing even one bar of this song during your day makes you cringe and shudder like nails on a chalkboard?
lets list them!
My personal complete list:
Pomeroy - Roboflow
Dropkick Murphs - Shipping up to boston
kenny loggins - danger zone
DMX - Come Thru
DVDA - Now youre a MAN
Soulja Boy - Crank That
roboflow has by far the strongest negative association. when that guy starts rapping with his voice at 6AM, my morning rage was blinding hot, and years later that anger has not subsided.

default iphone ring
-
yes, i have learned from my past song ruinings and now only use stock ringers as alarms. but then sometimes you hear your alarm ringer as someone elses ringtone in public and JUST GET REALLY PISSED OFF :curse:
-
Such Great Heights - The Postal Service
Only made that mistake once. I can finally listen to that song again seven years later.

New Slang

default iphone ring
yep.
-
Pony- Ginuwine
-
Peaceful Strum.

had an older analog clock growing up that would make a *click* noise right before the alarm goes off. Most of the time the click noise would wake me up first. And anytime i heard a similar noise,i would jump.

Did you guys ever make the ringtone for your gf like an alarm alarm take shelter the germans are bombing kind of alarm?
-
Occasionally I get a phone call that wakes me up at a terrible hour. I am confused as crap when I am waking up "What's going on? That's not my alarm. What noise is this?"
-
I am lucky enough that I changed my alarm tone frequently enough that I do not have any negative associations with the song samples that I did use. I just use my cell phone defaults now.
Pantera- Cowboys from Hell and Tech N9ne- The Industry is Punks were two of my favorites to wake up to.
-
Air on the G String - J.S. Bach as arranged by August Wilhelmj and performed by Yo-Yo Ma
-
Cold Play - Clocks. I figured hey...alarm clocks with a song called clocks wouldn't hurt anyone. I effing hate that song because of the alarm ringer. Classic conditioning at it's best. Pavlov would be proud today knowing he ruined Cold Play for me.
-
Air on the G String - J.S. Bach as arranged by August Wilhelmj and performed by Yo-Yo Ma
Yo-yo ma rocking the prelude to Bach's Suite No. 1 with a fade into Mambo No. 5...breath-taking.

Some of these songs were terrible to begin with.
Mine is Satisfaction by the Stones.
-
I use a dubstep remix to whip my hair back and forth. That and some prodigy song. I need high pitch noise to wake up, so electronic music works well
-
So I guess the answer to your question, puniraptor, is there are no songs that I have ruined for myself forever by setting them as my alarm ringer
-
Daddy Yankee- Gasolina

my wife's ringtone is the imperial march from star wars
-
nobody uses alarms
-
I still haven't got sick of Coldplay's "Every Teardrop"
-
How do you even set a song as an alarm? :shame:

For the past 4 years I have had my phone on mute/vibrate 90% of the time, only time its not is if I am expecting a call. Very few things in life infuriate me more than people who have their phone make sounds for every notification(Song/Ringtone, Text/melody, email/ding, app notification/chirp, etc etc etc). :chainsaw: :Bonk: :Flamethrower:
The phone on my alarm in the most annoying/loud default

mine automatically goes to vibrate when it disconnects from my home wireless network, and goes back to full volume when it reconnects so the ringer is only ever on at my house :gocho:
