We need to get the AD's attention on this thing. It's ridiculous that we haven't gotten this done yet.
-
Jeez. No kidding. Would be great on many levels.
-
How much would we have to pay for those guaranteed W's though? Not fiscally responsible if you ask me. Of course my numbers could be off.
-
we need to schedule BCS/high-major level non-cons anyway. we have a long and friendly history of playing each other. may as well help each other out like pals by scheduling these mutually beneficial matchups.
-
could do a meet up at the border before the game and our presidents shake hands across the border with the fans behind them and then the fans come up and shake the other fans hands and do hugs and stuff?
-
No way I want to be around a bunch of mizzou mouthbreathers. That would really hurt our image. Mizzou fans are the pits.

Let's do this.
How do we do this?
-
Football could be tough for mizzou, with the Illinois game they play.

that's tough to overcome. agreed. I'm moving this thing to the basketball board (but not giving up on the football idea)
-
We should do it with Nebraska instead.

I would go absolutely nuts for a KSU/Mizzou/NU round robin basketball weekend. Throw in CU to make it a four-way. man, what an idea.
-
KC hosts the annual B12/SEC/B10/Pac12 hoops extraveganza every year. wow.
-
i'm organizing an annual pre-game pillow fight to be held at mill creek park
"you're either with us, or against us, but either way- you're gonna get hit with a pillow lol"
-
Would it be beneficial to do this at Arrowhead and Sprint Center?
We will be playing in the CBE classic with them soon.
-
i'm also organizing a pre-game hug competition. contestants supporting both teams form a line outside of the sprint center and give me the best they got. i'm the judge. the best part is that there are no losers!
-
Even though its basketball, I think we should have a ceremonial first pitch. Obviously thrown by Barack Obama, or whoever is president after him.
-
The KSU vs MU challenge brought to by the Mid Missouri Walnut Bowl Manufacturers Association or MMWBMA.
Sounds good.
-
When we decided to play aTm and not mizzou in kc i was insanely pissed
and dont give me the "we might play them in maui" bullshit excuses
-
we could also do home/away/kc/home/away/kc rotation if that would be preferable. sign a 90 year contract so we each get 30 homes, 30 neutrals, and 30 aways.
-
End every football season v. MU at Arrowhead and begin every basketball season that same day v. MU at the Sprint Center? :surprised:
-
Halftime show: Little Cat Slam Jam with Wildcats vs. Tigers. Winner gets a full ride scholarship to the school he represents.
-

-
Volunteer groups dribble 2 game balls, one from Columbia, the other from Manhattan, all the way to Sprint Center. Money goes to charity. If you dribble it off your foot or pick it up, you have to start over.
-
More Kansans go to K-State than any other school. More Missourians go to Mizzou than any other school.
Perfect match.
-
I feel like we could start a mentorship program.

Hmm 1 pm kick and 8 pm tip? Regardless of time it would be awesome.
-
I like the 90 years idea. I think eventually this game would become so large that they would build a new 100k seat stadium with the 50yd line exactly straddling the border and then fans fill each half and joke about not setting foot in the other state
-
What would we call this series? State line showdown?
-
Border Buds
-
Border battle
-
I very much like this idea.
We could also do one with Nebraska in Summerfield, and one with CU in Kanorado. Did you know the town of Summerfield is half in kansas and half in Nebraska?

I'm out. Would rather not have bottles of piss thrown at me

And the teams never trade sides, so they are always defending their state.
-
This makes nothing but sense, especially in BB. I mean, we have crap teams like Alabama in our Ghosts of SEC Past, why not add MU. I would be for it even if we didn't have history.
Also, can you guys imagine oscar and Kim on the sidelines at the same time?

We need a traveling trophy. The Tigcat?

KATZOU. everybody gets one of these on their way into the sprint center and blasts it at the top of their lungs right before tip off. man, world Cup atmosphere in there

If MU actually ever won the Katzou troph, we would never want that back. I mean, it would easily be both a "jumbo" straw for Gary Pinkel and looks to be like one DIY mod away from being a meth pipe.
-
How about the "Border Showdown"? *takes sip of confidence*
-
WHAT IF WE CALLED IT THE BORDER WAR!?!??!?!?!?! :excited:

you don't have Wars with your best buds unless its like a water war or prank war or something.
-
nerf gun wars
-
Can we have the KU band show up and play music that mocks the Tigers in a lovable way?
-
Since we are both Flagship unis of our states, we should call it Capture The Flag.

Also, we should build a special field for it with the 50 yard line being the state line. We could fill a 70k stadium for the game and use it for tractor pulls and monster truck shows the rest of the year

Absolutely

Another idea. Set up two basketball courts (one on either end of the football field) and then play half the basketball game in kansas and half in missouri!

2002 Flashback:
In response to a question on highway funding during a forum in front of several Johnson County chambers of commerce, Sebelius said she had been stranded in Ohio when the nation's airports were shut down after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
She rented a car and drove by herself on Interstate 70 through Missouri to Kansas.
"The roads in Missouri were much more terrifying to me than the attacks on the World Trade Center, because I really did think my life was far more at risk," she said.
The condition of that road showed why it was important for Kansas to keep up its highway infrastructure, she added.
Shallenburger also picked up on the Missouri theme, saying Kansas should imitate its neighbor in promoting tourism.
"I'm from southeast Kansas. There used to be a cave near a little town called Branson. That was it, a cave; a dirty, dingy cave. Today it's the fourth-biggest tourist trap in the country," he said.

Not one person honestly desires this.

Those who speak for many end up speaking for no one.

Our governors should make one of those cheesy bets where if they win (LOL yeah right!) they get a bushel of our finest Kansas wheat, and if we win we get a box of whatever their best export is besides homemade drugs.
-
we could give them some kansas limestone taken from a quarry in our beautiful flint hills that they could use to build something on their campus

The new field should host an annual gathering of the juggalos and the loser should have to give a campaign speech at it.
