1. limestone- it's no secret he's my favorite mod, and he is easily everything i ever imagined and more
2. j-dub- how rough ridin' adorable is this guy? holy crap guys!
3. trivia was hard fought and fairly competitive (between two teams, lol) but ultimately was won by the darkest of darkhorses, THE fatty family (#applause)
4. the black guy was a few hours late (:opcat:?)
5. michigancat looks exactly as you imagined
6. f14 rocked (rapped?) the roof off
7. #thecarneyencore took that non-roof and destroyed whatever was left and made it #thecarneydestruction
8. mrs. gooch- not as tall as her feet would imply
9. towniecat was nearly arrested for destruction of private property (very disrespectful)
other:
this was my first #fattyfest and well, it was pretty great. pete was a fantastic mc for trivia (i laughed multiple times at his quips), rd and kk wrote some great fatty/ksu/mhk-related questions and MiR totally dominated the karaoke portion of the evening. as mentioned earlier, the two concert performers were fantastic.
bottomline:
if you didn't come this year (*cough*thewhippedtonyaharding*cough**cough*) then you should punch yourself in the swimsuit parts.

J-dub dancing was fantastic

Basically everybody was great. Meeting ksu_fan was everything you'd expect. Hating Francis and tbt were both awesome nice guys. Metal head has great dimples and havs gave me his business card which was nice of him. 4maw were all great and the mods did a great job. Mir I mean wow
Sorry if I left you out I just woke up. goEMAW has some incredibly good looking and awesome smelling posters. Will attend again
I fell :(
-
Excellent event. It was great to meet a lot of posters I've never met and catch up with others.
I do apologize to my team for being pretty terrible at trivia, though we did tie for 4th*.

Very true.

First Fattyfest where I have stayed (lasted) until the end. Worth it.
I think we set a record for money raised...Trim will confirm.

didnt want to get in the way before we left for station. Was there anything that didn't get bought? If so can you let us know so we can bid again

There was a great moment where seven and mocat were sitting side by side talking about me being mean to various posters and all of a sudden were like, "hey, how the eff did you confuse us michigancat?"
:ohno:

what were some of the trivia questions?

so no Kreuser for trivia this year? also, you should have referred to them as the darkest horse of them all, a la the football board in 2012

what were some of the trivia questions?
One of the categories was "steve dave's house"

I've done several worse things in that bar (seven can confirm). Nose Ring Guy needed to chill out.
Everything in the OP was spot on. A great day with great people.
-
I think I might have hearing damage from sitting so close to the speakers during The Carney Encore's performance (which was great).
-
Pete needs to have a microphone 24/7/365.
Actual quote when Pete was discussing the raffle item of a LHC Bill Snyder signed football:
"This is a great prize guys, ask yourself, how old is MY grandpa and well, I'm saying this could be valuable really soon"
-
I think it was, "ask yourself, how old was YOUR grandpa when he died."
-
Pete was really the best MC imaginable.

pete needs a raise, because lol

haha. i saw via twitter that a few of the categories were woolyball and mascots. would have been my strong suit.

yes

Steve Dave's house was easily the best trivia category of all time.

lol, emaw is full of great people
-
guys, seven, kslim..
it was a real treat guys, a real treat.
-
we didn't just draw names out of a mod hat to decide who would have the mic for trivia. pete was on stage for a reason and he was absolutely hands down fantastic. such a treat. the entire day and night was amazingly fun and everybody that attended should pat themselves on the back.
-
if there's one guy who knows how to work a room, it's pete.
-
the best mc i've ever seen anywhere at anytime in anyplace/format
-
also, i can't tell you how neat it is rusty came. he's definitely in my top 4 posters i'd like to meet that i haven't met yet.
-

it was a real treat guys, a real treat.
where did you get those moves from? Everybody that danced off was great btw.
-
Pete was the Michael Jordan of trivia emcees.
-
with about seven questions to go in the last round, pete and i figured out that we didn't have enough questions. did he freak out? no. calm, cool and collected. i then pulled some leftover questions from the first round folder, we threw them into potluck and boom. problem solved and pete never broke a sweat. it was the type of trivia mc'ing that you would expect from a 40 year veteran or something.
-
On top of MC ing his face off, Pete also dropped life knowledge bombs on me and jmlynch at station later

good point. Wtf rick?
-
I had a freaking blast. Staying sober through trivia really impressed upon me how bombed some of you degenerates get during the course of a four hour trivia round.
Rick and KK did an amazing job on the questions. Steve Dave's house as a category was so much fun.

Did he end up firing off his gun in the parking lot?
-
I thought it was cool how Rick Daris just sorta put the whole "being a cop" thing away for a night, and looked the other way on stuff. I mean, he could have met his quota for the year if he had so much as frisked a single DU, but Rick stayed cool and let everyone just chill.

My first Fatty Fest and man oh man what a treat. If you havent been to one please go. Everyone I talked to was cool and friendly. What a bunch of handsome bastards this board has!
As others have said, Pete absolutely killed it being the trivia MC.
I wish I had paid closer attention to the Steve Dave's House thread.
Michigancats' s beard is even more glorious than you could ever imagine.
Had fun with Mrs. Gooch in a bidding war for the martini glass/power towel/Wooly poster combo items. Neither one of us ended up getting it tho....I couldn't read the name of the person who made the final bid.
The best part was when Fatty Family won the trivia, very shrewd wagering strategy on their part! Hilarious that none of the teams got the final question correct.
All in all was a great day/evening even though I had to leave right after trivia and didn't get to experience the karaoke and concert later on.

Wouldn't have needed PI if you had told me Pixies and Weezer were 2 of the 5. I almost jumped on stage to sing El Scorcho with you. Your band is very good Stevesie.
-
Stevesie plays, like, the easiest instrument tho

Paul and I found out we live less than 2 blocks away from each other on the same street and I drove him home today and it was very enjoyable

So bummed I missed it. So bummed. Good for all of you making your first FATTYFEST. I hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Sorry to all that I was as shy as Zaccheaus and did not socialize/ introduce my self to anyone. Yet if anyone recalls an awkward kid that has some resemblance to Rowan Atkinson, that was me. Great event for a great cause. Encore's cover of "Where The Streets Have No Name" dared me to move them to my top favorite secular band.

Lot of pressure I bet. I think if i shook his hand i'd spend the rest of the day hoping that i didn't give him too firm of a shake and make him think i was trying too hard.

I purposefully abstained from going to avoid any possible distractions. (I doubt there would have been any). I lost my mind pretty good there for a bit and drug FF into it. I'll be at FF15. :D

That's funny because at the New Orleans satellite FattyFest, WeirdRobert'sFoamFinger asked me the same question and I answered I would high five skinny benny because irl he's a super awesome rad dude who just can't quite get it together with his bbs persona.
:frown:
Glad you guys had fun. V. jealous. This is the part where I ask you all to post some of the specific trivia questions that were asked. Because it sounds awesome and I'm intrigued. (And will spark more memzy posts from people who were there and too pak'd to remember everything but are now sobes.)

The correct call was ultimately made regarding Mookie.
And I would totally high five skinben in real life.

-
there were 14 categories. 2 rounds of seven. some categories...
1990s kstate football
woolyball
mhk streets
U2
Steve daves house
potluck
E!
title IX
ouchies (category of bad kstate sports moments)

The mhk streets implantation

like how rough ridin' difficult is "in order" to understand?

oh crap. Gimme all the MHK street questions. :excited: can post in townie thread if you want.

McDonalds, Kansas State Bank and Sonic are not on rough ridin' Bluemont. It's Anderson ffs.
-
McDonalds, Kansas State Bank and Sonic are not on rough ridin' Bluemont. It's Anderson ffs.
Well, they are, but during trivia they specifically said that the "landmarks" would be listed in the order that Kat Kid sees them. He could only see them in four different arrangements:
Bluemont - Kansas State Bank, McDonald's, Sonic is the order west to east.
Anderson - McDonald's, Kansas State Bank, Sonic is the order west to east.
They specific order given was McDonald's, Sonic, Kansas State Bank. So really there was no right answer other than neither.
-
IIRC the order was Sonic, McDs, KS Bank. In that case Bluemont is correct.
Butthurt Jazz Band needs to get over it.

Disagree. Pretty sure I heard Kat Kid say Sonic, McDonald's, Kansas State Bank. All three exist on Bluemont now that McDonald's moved to its new location.

Rise to a point of order: although the order is important, if necessary, your mind's eye could travel in reverse and still arrive at the correct answer.

yep. 4maw was up 450 points going into the final question. wagered enough to beat everyone if everyone answered correctly.
everyone answered incorrectly. fatty's family was the only team that didn't wager anything. game over.

The only downside of fatty fest is there were too many great people that it was hard to have a good conversation with everyone. I wanted Tobias to school me about soccer and tell jury duty stories, apologize to _FAN about making fun of golfers attire, talk to CF3 and J-dub about growing a beard and my fly being down, etc., etc., etc. I also tried to lure MiR into a real life fighting you situation but he is just an adorable teddy bear. Oh well, next year, maybe.
