i picked new year's day bowls because i can watch a whole bunch of games over the course of a whole day instead of just watching one

New Years Day had become incredibly watered down over the last 10 years or so with multiple boring Big 10 games in the early part of the day and usually the crappiest match up of the BCS bowls at night but I have high hopes for a bounce back with the playoff system.

opening round of NCAA (both days, individually) is better than this day by, like, over a million dollars

good point, didn't think about it since I'm in the mind frame we will lose on that day anyway

Literally any day of regional or super regional college baseball is better than today.

While it's definitely NCAA opening round, I'll throw in Indy 500/Coke 600 day for the rednecks.   :driving:

somewhat about both but apparently not enough for it to even register to me that the first poll option wasn't just some random grouping of events

the best day is when KSU FB, Royals, and SKC play on the same day. my god it's like caring about stuff overload

I voted for today out of the two options. There have definitely been better sports days, but today is right up there with any of them. Agree with mocat, per usual.

11:00am Kansas State @ Iowa State

3:00pm Kansas City Royals @ New York Yankees

6:30pm New York Red Bulls @ Sporting Kansas City

i mean holy crap you guys, it's spaced out perfectly

I voted for the golf/NBA/WC one because the NBA is my favorite sports league, but... FWIW Sunday will be 1000x better than today for each of those events.

NOTE: If K-State is playing then this obviously changes.  :emawkid:

Remember when K-State played Okie State to open up Big 12 play, and The Chiefs were in the playoffs at the same time? And remember all the dorks who didn't watch the Wild Wildcats in lieu of The Chiefs? They got what they deserved.

A majority of your fanbase loves Alex Smith and is glad KC never "wastes a pick" on an early round QB. Yeah, you got what you deserved.

I honestly thought the world cup started Monday, and I don't really watch golf, and I'll probably just watch 2nd half of the finals, so today is behind yesterday for instance, when the Royals had a day game.

I don't think that was the same day. Pretty sure that was the actual Scottie Pippen U.

EDIT: Disregard, I'm thinking of the week before.

I have a very vivid memory of celebrating beating top 10 OSU while everyone else in Aggieville couldn't muster up the energy because they were watching their 28 point lead slip away.

I mixed up the two days. Winters and I went to the UCA game and then watched the end of the first Indy game in the basement at my old house. I went to the OSU game with Kat Kid and had a blast. I don't really remember anything that occurred after Kat Kid dropped me off back at my house. When I go into a state of euphoria like that, I tend to forget about everything else going on around me.

My memories of that day:

1) Cats win!
2) Snow.
3) Chiefs choke job.

Listen I didn't hate the Alex Smith trade, and I still don't, but there's nothing that says you can't do that AND draft a qb or two in the draft. The patriots have drafted seven qbs since they drafted tom Brady smh

One of which was Matt Cassel and then we gave them a 2nd round pick for him.  :curse:

not only the patriots bud. the broncos drafted osweiler in the 2nd round like a week after they signed peyton. the seahawks drafted russ wilson in the 3rd like a week after they signed matt flynn. the 49ers drafted colin kaepernick in the 2nd rd even though they already had alex smith. the redskins drafted kirk cousins 3 rds after taking rg3 2nd overall. what a buncha dumbasses all of those guys are

the chiefs... they gave up 3 2nd rd picks for matt cassel and alex smith. and they have paid cassel and smith more money than the combined cost of osweiler, wilson, kaepernick, rg3 and cousins entire rookie contracts.

when will all of those other teams learn. idiots.
