Luked? Interesting design. If there's a long line to read the rules off the paper, just read them off other patrons' backs.

is the light text being projected or is it sunlight shining through stained glass or something?

I believe they're in "The Matrix".
Which explains why they're building this thing to begin with.
-
I bet they stole the design from some smuck's small-town Massachusetts YMCA diorama.
-
how embarrassing for them :frown:
-
What in the eff
-
Looks pretty cool to me :dunno:
-
where the light shines bright from Springfield, Mass
-
Looks like the attic of a condemned house.
-
The very center part with the actual rules is okay.
The rest of it needs a crap ton more trees.
-
Why is it so smoggy in that post -apocalyptic hvac system?
-
I have a question, why the eff would anyone want to read the rules of basketball? Are they expecting people to show up and just read the rules for enjoyment?

The dining options.
"The DeBruce Center will be a hub for students and for the university community," KU Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little said at the groundbreaking. "It will be a meeting center, it will be a place that has dining options. It will be a place that draws visitors to the University of Kansas – visitors who want to see the rightful home of the original rules of basketball."
Naismith's original "Rules of Basket Ball", written in 1891, will be displayed prominently in the building and will be flanked by the stories of Naismith, "the Father of Basketball," and Allen, "the Father of Basketball Coaching."
-
I do appreciate the liberties that ku takes with the history of basketball.
They really are one of the best at glossy brochures and hammering home talking points.
-

what a complete dipshit

With their use of such overly-defensive language, it's obvious they already know it's a load of crap.

If you wanna spend a bunch of money on a building to show the original rules written on sacred parchment, I guess that's fine, but when you feel the need to display the text of those rules over and over again a billion times, you're trying to convince yourself those pieces of paper are truly worth $4.3 million.
I feel bad for the architects. You know that they originally came up with a classy idea, like the rotunda at the National Archives, and the Booths and DeBruces were like, "MORE RULES! RULES ON EVERYTHING! PUT AN OBVIOUS RULE ON THE EXTERIOR!"

Why do you need a center to read the history of basketball when you have google? :dunno:
-
looks like a war memorial
-
with texas a&m out of the conference, ku is now home to the weirdest fanbase in the big12.
-
the more I look at it, it reminds me of the lenin tomb thing. Do they have a place for billy self also?
-
I heard that about 7% of people during the testing encountered seizures when they were exposed to those shadows.
-
Do you guys suppose there's a secret coded map to football success at a basketball school written in disappearing ink on the back of the rules? :dunno:
-
Lambert Will is gonna haunt the eff out of that place...

without a doubt those two schools are runner up and third place. wvu is fourth. every other school in conference is normal.

OU and Okie St need to be ranked too, but that's the Okie factor. I'd put us next just because of our number of tucks, then Tech. TCU and Texas battle for 9/10. TCU just because I'm still not convinced they actually have a fan base

TCU has a fan base they are just too rich to be seen around common folk

Speaking of TCU, is their football team still selling drugs as a fundraiser?
-
looks like a war memorial
i think it looks like an apple store
-
The greeting party for ku basketball when they get home from the NCAA looks like Star Trek convention week. Just a shame the LJW took a lot of those great pictures down.
-
Oh my, this is just too perfect.
