This was deceiving by the way they listed St. John's after Kansas. Or are we in this one a different year?

I'm assuming the deal with Georgia will be separate from the Big 12/SEC challenge. I'm not sure if a return trip to play at Ole Miss is guaranteed either.

are we sure it will be @ Ole Miss? I don't think the B12/SEC challenge is a way to set up home/home series with the same team. I bet it is another team.

If the B12/SEC challenge is like the ACC/big 10 challenge then the opponents rotate each year. Since we will be good and Ole Miss will likely suck they'll probably match us up with one of the SEC blue bloods like Kentucky or Florida.

Would take Mizzou, tho since I'd probably make the trip to CoMo to see that one  :D

Doubt we get Florida or UK - UT, KU, ISU, and OU are all probably above us on pecking order.  I think Florida and UK were both at home last year too.  Tennessee, Arkansas, or Missouri is more in our range.

With the UT/A&M and KU/Mizzou games not having happened yet, I don't think they concern themselves with national interest.  Also, it kind of screws Florida or UK out of having a good match up when some of the best Big 12 teams are already spoken for.  If it were up to me:

KSU - South Carolina
KU - Missouri
UT - A&M
ISU - Florida
OU - UK
Baylor - Arkansas
OSU - Tenn
Tech - Don't care
TCU - Don't care
WVU - Don't care

Not 2014-2015 related, but it mentions in the KC Star article that we're playing in the 2015-2016 CBE. A little bit of googling shows that Mizzou and UNC are both in the CBE that year, too. Will take, if true.

Texas aTm on a Monday is like a thousand times better than Florida A&M on a Monday, and lots of folks showed up for that game, and they enjoyed it goddammit. oscar has been spoiling you guys, and now nothing is good enough anymore. Like a bunch of petulant children, "Mommy! I want another Big XII championship! Mommy! I don't want to lose in the first round anymore! Mommy! I want to play Florida in the Sprint Center EVERY year! Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!"

kenpom #72, #78, #112, and #121 teams last year. All very winnable games, but hopefully they all improve so that at least 2 of them are good RPI wins.

The areas out of bounds along the sidelines were very wide, in contrast with the small facility which it replaced, where the walls were right along the sidelines and players could scrape their shoulders bringing the ball up the court. This necessitated the placement of the benches at each end of the court, which was not highly unusual at the time.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memorial_Gymnasium_(Vanderbilt_University)#Construction_and_unusual_design

I don't follow what currently prevents the benches from being on the sides.

I think because the bench being along the sidelines would block the line of vision for a lot of fans who are literally sitting below the floor. An extremely bizarre arena not sure why it's set up like this

I read that too but looking at the picture, I'm not sure if that's still the case or how much of a difference it makes compared to the baseline front-row'rs in the bottom left corner of the picture trying to see the game over the bench.

The benches are on the endzones due to the floor being raised about 3 ft on the sidelines. It was built to also host concerts and plays, thus the raised floor on the sidelines. Also the architect went to school in France and played in req league basketball there. His quote in the book about Memorial was the gym was so small, he could barely take the ball out of bounds. Memorial was his first job after architect school and he wanted extra wide areas past the out of bounds lines.

Should be a great game! Lookin forward to hostin yall!

Show us a good picture that better displays this than the one above.  The people on the far sideline and the baselines all appear to be on the floor.  The near sideline is hard to tell, but even if that one has people below floor level, why not benches on the far sideline?

Here's an article about the weird gym. http://www.vucommodores.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/122509aaa.html

And I guess by looking at these pics, they'd have to get rid of a few rows of seats because fans couldn't see if the benches were on the sideline. And it would be hard because of the curved seating plan.

Cuonzo Martin played for oscar at Purdue!  :Wha:  oscar has already bested Self face to face on the field of Big 12 men's hoops battle.  Like Rocky in the pen with that chicken, oscar came to the Big 12 so Self couldn't run anymore.

Quote
8. Kansas State at Tennessee: Marcus Foster should be the early favorite to win Big 12 player of the year honors. He’s the reason oscar Weber’s team shouldn’t be dismissed as a threat in the conference. Donnie Tyndall doesn’t really have a roster right now, so this one is difficult to gauge. But if the young men who have requested releases from their scholarships come back to Knoxville, then this one will be more intriguing than it appears to be right now.

Will this be Weber's best team since 2005?  The first KSU team had the most victories since then.  This schedule and depth and versatility of this roster could allow us to do very well.  Every game we can match up to any team, we have more of a chance of different players being hot at a given game and being able to handle injuries better.
