Title: QB
Post by: Pete on April 04, 2010, 08:58:30 PM
Thanks to other message boarders poster intimidating each other mercilessly, word is that Klein is our leader at QB.

I think we can all take this as good news...relative to the available types of news at QB for us this year.

Honestly, I could really see Klein not sucking.  Like perhaps the level of your typical Big 12 backup quarterback....which is EXACTLY what we got last year.  Same QB play as last year gets us 6 wins, IMO.

I've been on his bandwagon for a couple of years.  Probably for no other reason than thinking his recruiting video looked decent.

The kid has size, he can run, and that pass he threw against NU last year was one of the nicer ones thrown all season.

If my options are Klein, Lamur, or Coffman, Klein is the only one that makes me not want to kill myself.

Is there any way to find out if this kid had braces at some point in his life?  Because if he didn't, then I think anyone who can naturally have a set of teeth that nice can QB my team any day.  That's not something you can teach.  It would definitely mean he has "it".

Not unrealistic expectations . . .  Look a blind Mongoloid at QB could have played better than our QB's did at UCLA, at La-La and in several other games.   Call it a nutty little hunch but I bet Klein could have completed half of what was something like 9 or 10 straight incomplete passes by our "QB's" at La-La.

I have long maintained that we would have been 8-4 last year if Gregory was ready to go against UCLA and La-La. That's seriously pretty ridiculous to think about.

Doesn't matter who is playing QB, as long as the kid can hand off:
Quote
Kansas State lost leading receiver Brandon Banks, but this spring, the Wildcats must also replace every receiver with more than six catches. Receivers Attrail Snipes and Lamark Brown are also gone, as is tight end Jeron Mastrud.

Title: Re: QB

Yeah, it'll be tough to replace Snipes and Brown. Plus, we'll really miss Mastrud when we need a tight end to fumble the ball in the fourth quarter and lose close games.

Really not too worried about Klein not being able to get meaningful snaps last year.  No way Snyds was going with frosh over GG last year.  Coffman got a shot cause he apparently knows the offense well, he just has very  little actual qb ability.  Coff will prob make a nice coach someday though.

A bicyclist was sent to the hospital earlier this week after the driver of a vehicle failed to yield in an intersection and struck him, according to a report from the Riley County Police Department.
The incident occurred at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Bluemont Avenue and 12th St., said RCPD Lt. Herb Crosby.
Sammuel Lamur, 20, of 1602 Hillcrest Dr., No. 304, was driving northbound on 12th St. when he made a left-hand turn onto Bluemont. Lamur’s 2001 Chevy Tahoe struck cyclist Mark Smelser, 26, of 2054 Hunting Ave., Crosby said.
Smelser was taken to Mercy Regional Hospital for a broken right elbow and other minor injuries, according to the report.
Lamur was issued citations for failing to yield the right-of-way and disobeying a traffic control device, Crosby said.

I think Klein will be an upgrade from gregs. Would almost net money

Remember arguing with the phog about the relative difference between replacing Gregs and replacing Reesing?

"No, it's all the same! We both just have to replace a quarterback!"

Does this even register in the Fulmer Cup standings? :dunno:

If the Tahoe belonged to a former Cat footballer, and it was still being financed, and it had allegedly been "sold" to Snipes who lent it to Lamur....and there were some 15 year old girls in it then yes.

Let's go ahead and try to submit it under those pretenses, just so we can get some early-offseason momentum going and maybe generate some buzz among recruits.

Why can't people just come out and say he's a bad quarterback?  Are they trying not to hurt Paul Coffman's feelings?

I'm not trying to be a dick, but come on.  It's laughable to even entertain the notion that he'll start.  If he does, we're going to win, maybe, one game.
