Obviously I don't mean that they literally sucked. That is pretty much impossible when you are on a D1 team. That said, who is your favorite sucky and or hated EMAW hoopster. Also, dont worry about limiting it to just one.
-
Pasco
-
Aaron swartchendruberdiupixaschsihiznier

Quentin Buchanan and Travis Reynolds.
aka The Dirty Js.
:runaway:
-
Bennett was a riot.
-
Don't worry.
-
Tyler Hughes...
even Lou couldn't keep up with his foul production, plus all those over-the-back put-back dunks
-
Rashad Washington
:combofan:
-
seibrandt
This, his unathletic hook shot bullshit was more than anyone should have to bear
-

Rashad Washington
:combofan:
That's a great one. Teammate of Richie.
-
Marques Hayden
-
frank richards
Bingo!!!!!1!!!
-
The thing is, Pasco, Seibrandt, and Richards were our best players. I don't think they qualify.
-
phineas atchison.
-
Aaron swartchendruberdiupixaschsihiznier
-
Justin Williams. Just on account of that he was scary looking. But if you knew his basketball game you knew that he's like a sweet kitten.

Manny Dies
Yeah Manny I said it - the door is unlocked [redacted] - :comehere:

Tony Adame's fave is not Cartier Martin.

Weird column by a weird dude.
Summary: Cartier underacheived. Walker and Beasley don't count. Remember these old players? Players have two cell phones.
I guess thats one way to take a story.
My fave: "The White Flag" Travis Canby. When he went in, we've given up.
-
Tim Ellis
-
Skip Nickerson never lived up to the hype. At KSU anyway.
-
Ayome May.
-
Ayome May.
Loved it when he used to :barf: on the sidelines!
-
Darren Kent before his senior year
-
Ayome May.
He wasn't sucky
-
Blake Young by a zillion.
Love that dude

now that I re evaluate this thread I really don't think drubes sucked but loved LOVED the dude!

Janerio Spurlock. Really thought that guy was going to contribute.
-
Jarrett Hart.
-
i would venture to say that half of the players listed so far are not "sucky" by "kstate last twenty years standards".
-

Yeah, being in the top three best players on the team at any time should probably take you out of consideration imo
-
Ayome May.
"Paco" May is one of my fav KSU b-ballers of all-time. He didn't suck, though.
-
Phineas Atchison or Galen Morrison
-
Not sure I understand this thread. If it is players you loved who sucked terribly then I would go with Ivan Sulic, Quentin Buchannon or Donnie Wallace (media guide comment that still kills me everytime I think of it: "Q: Donnie, who is the best player you've ever played against? A: Aaron Schwarzendrubber."

somehow missed this the first time read this thread. that is the weirdest/worst article i've maybe ever read. what was the point? cartier isn't as good as mitch richmond and rolando blackman were? dunno.

Thread seems to be interpreted 3 different ways:
1. Fav players on sucky teams.
2. Sucky players that I liked for some reason.
3. Sucky players I loved to hate.

I met the guy in a bar a couple years ago. At the time, he wasn't even a writer of any sort but claimed to be a columnist. I think he's still not officially a writer but gets to do this sunday thing they do 1/4 of the time. He was all weird at the bar so I was kind of stand-offish/bad person-ish to him (shocking, I know). I later found out that he told others left at the bar that my behavior had him convinced I was on coke.

There are all kinds of directions this could go actually (counting Altman through Wooly as the sucky era)...
a) Favorite player from the sucky era that was really good (all league). Guys like Askia Jones, Elliot Hatcher, Tyrone Davis, Manny Dies, Larry Reid, Jeremiah Massey, Cartier Martin, and David Hoskins.
Jeremiah Massey
b) Favorite player from the sucky era that was pretty good (not quite all league, maybe HM). Anthony Beane, Darryl Cunningham, Belvis Noland, Aaron Swartendruber, Ayome May, Tony Kitt, Shawn Rhodes, Cortez Groves, Pervis Pasco, Gilson DeJesus, Tim Ellis, Lance Harris.
Anthony Beane.
c) Favorite player from the sucky era that played a lot but was just okay. Gerald Eaker, Frank Richards, Matt Seibrandt, Josh Reid, Aaron Swartzendruber, Tony Atchison, Jarrett Hart, Kelvin Howell, Akeem Wright, Clent Stewart.
Akeem Wright.
d) Favorite players from the sucky era that were truly terrible, but finished their career. George Hill, Joe Leonard, Ivan Sulic, Quentin Buchanan, Travis Canby, Skyler Thomas.
Quentin Buchanan.
e) Favorite players from the sucky era that were decent, but didn't finish their career at K-State. Mark Young, Duane Davis, Galen Morrison, Nick Williams, Dez Willingham, Marques Hayden, Fred Peete.
Nick Williams.
f) Favorite players from the sucky era that were bad and didn't finish their career at K-State. Johnny Williams, Charles Dinkins, Dax Jones, Adam Lopez, Anton Hubert, Pero Vasiljevic, Marcelo DaBarrosa, Marcus Hayes, Janerio Spurlock, Tyler Hughes.
Anton Hubert.

If we get all the new expansion stuff, including expanded hall of fame and history museum, I'd like to see a wing/closet dedicated to this. It can have flexible hours that work around _FAN's schedule so he can be there at all times to guide/narrarate.

It would be a pleasure to narrate the highlights featuring George Hill missing the entire backboard/rim, Anton Hubert's game winner against Bradley in the OOD, Duane Davis' injury and off the court troubles perhaps meaning the end of Asbury's career, Marcelo DaBarrosa hitting beautiful mid-range jumpers, and Tyler Hughes abusing Texas in the OOD.
Great times through those 16 years that were the armpit of K-State hoops, 13 of which I had season tickets.
-
Really liked Gilson DeJesus, but I don't think that he could be considered sucky. Loved Siebrandt, too. HATED Travis Canby, FWIW.
-
Will always consider Skyler Thomas my favorite player. Miss that dude. We would easily be playing for the NC tomorrow if he was still here.
-
Strangely enough, Adame is very good friends with a dude I would put atop my personal list: Shawn Rhodes.
-
I got to admit I liked Clent Stewart
-

like how you used tyler hughes and abusing together. also, if you were starting a college bball team today...who would you take- george hill or hamilton strickland?
-
I had classes with DaBarossa. He was hilarious and ridiculously smart. I remember him coming into Hale in the summer (several times) with a hot chick in a miniskirt and no books at all. :fatty:
-
Reggie Britt
-
Serge Afeli
Remember when he cried on Huggins' shoulder on senior day? :bawl:
-
Surprised no one has mentioned Ben-neck, though I guess he was pretty much unlikeable, so perhaps I should retract.
Carry on. :users:

Clent Stewart=Best Sucky Player of All-Time
-
We need to clarify...
are we talking about sucky players, or sucky players considering other talent on the team? because, while clent sucked, he was good compared to the rest of his team. :dunno:
-
most anti-favorite for me is colon my excitement that he's gone forever is off the charts
Colon would have be a rock star during the Wooly years. Massey, C-Mart and then Colon. He has to be less sucky than others.
-
Reggie Britt
so athletic.
-
Serge Afeli
Remember when he cried on Huggins' shoulder on senior day? :bawl:
Serge was a great story.
That kid was just so happy he wasn't getting shot at. Everything at KSU was just bonus.
Can't find anything but joy in that kid's story.
-
Really liked Beane and Cunningham, but don't know if they count as playing on sucky teams. Went to the NCAA as juniors and NIT quarterfinals as seniors. Beat KU twice, so that has to count for something.
Sucky player who infuriated me with glimpses of actual talent: Lance Harris.
Sucky player who never should have received a scholarship to a D1 school:Travis Canby
Potential difference maker I would have like had be been able to control his sucky off-court behavior: Duane Davis.
-

I go with George Hamilton. :gocho:
-
Gott go with Mario Taybron
-
Reggie Britt- gave me a ride from Haymaker to the sports complex when I was a freshman.
Marcus Ziegler- Mr. biddy basketball in Wichita at 5ft7, never grew another inch.
Jean Dellouire- (probably misspelled) learned how to dance watching Jean in the 'ville. Dude was so smooth on and off the court
-
Oops, didn't see Ben-neck. My apologies.
I really, really disliked some of our worst players, so it's hard to come up with guys I liked that were terrible. Rhodes is a good one ... he was Kent before there was a Kent. I didn't find him nearly as offensive as some people did, and yet I'm not sure anyone can argue him as being a "good" player. Q. Buchanon was the same way.
Loved Noland and Schwartzendruber for their names alone, but neither of them were all that putrid, unfortunately.
Guess I'll go with Rhodes or maybe Yearby ... dudes I rooted for despite knowing they were doing more harm than good out there.
-
Jarelle Roberson - I probably spelled that completely wrong, but I was convinced he was going to be outstanding.
-
Seriously. The answer is Reggie Britt. Even though he wasn't all that sucky, he was an incredibly great guy. And not ugly:
I don't know why you continue to argue (http://www.modelmayhem.com/796316). :dunno:

Tyrone Davis... was he the one with the blue knee brace? If so, that was my answer, I just couldn't remember the name.
-
Mine is Galen Morrison, not because of what he did while playing for KSU, but for how he crossed me over, threw it off the backboard and dunked on me at the rec. We will always have that moment, Galen. Always.
-

mods- pls change name of thread to above average ksu basketball players who played more than five years ago. thanks.

This thread is crackin me up! I lived with Justin Williams for 2 years and we were the hang out house for the team. All my boys, Massey, Diarra, Sky, Clent, Lance Harris, Hayden, Curtis Allen, Fred, Cartier, Canby, etc. Massey's brother, B was hilarious though, pissin Lance off all the time callin him Omarion. We had to keep a spare mattress in the basement for their frackin' bed.

He's beyond weird. Has referred to himself as the "Mayor of Old Town" before. He scratches together some juco and small college crap every once in awhile, He blogged a cat BB game in the tourney since Kellis is inept. I think he shares a cubicle with the lawn and garden girl at the Beagle.
-
Has referred to himself as the "Mayor of Old Town" before.
You're gonna have to expand on this.

He's put it in his tweets before. Followed him for his juco info(garbage), still follow him for his weirdness factor.

Kenyatta Dix
dude could dunk
-
Travis Camby sucked ass. Talk about a guy who people had good expectations of coming out of high school. That guy scored more joints in a night than minutes on the court.
-
