Title: Diagnose Injury/Sickness Thread
Post by: steve dave on March 08, 2014, 09:16:16 AM
Yesterday I was sitting on the floor cross legged playing with over a million 9'ish month old babies. I went to stand up while holding one and the outside of my left knee made a loud pop and hurt for like 30 seconds. It doesn't hurt today but it kind of makes a popping sound when I move it around. What is this gE? As a follow up, how good are the pain meds if I have to get it surgeried?

Pain don't hurt. The realization that your body is deteriorating may bring a tear to your eye. Meds:alcohol.

Sounds like you may have broken off a piece of cartilage (probably one of your meniscuses).  The popping is it floating around in your joint.  If that is what happened they may want to go in and remove it so it doesn't lock up your joint.  Happened to me in high school, but it was a running back falling into the side of my knee that did it.

Playing with a million 9 month old babies sounds like tough work, thank you for sacrificing your knee for the greater good SD.

Similar thing happened to me a while back. I just completely ignored it, it even popped for a while whenever I would bend my knees past 90 degrees, but eventually it kinda went away. I think maybe my body ate the dislodged cartilage or something. So SD maybe just let your body eat your broken knee parts?

That used to happen to me every now and then when I was a teenager. It never happens anymore. Maybe I'm like that Benjamin Button guy or something, only without the weird turning into a baby thing.
