Title: Winter
Post by: steve dave on February 12, 2014, 02:30:10 PM
When is this awful season going to be over? It lasts like a million years. At first it's fun with the snow and junk but then it's just awful and everyone's sick and it's too cold. like, 50 degrees too cold.  :Yuck:

I second this sentiment.  Very ready for green grass, golf, and brews with buds.

Its like being really hungry at dinner time, it makes the food taste better. So when its cold for a long time you 'preciate the warm times more.

Guys obese people wear shorts all the rough ridin' time.  Like all winter long.  Anyway, not sure how that contributes to the discussion, but it was worth mentioning.

If winter was like 1 day longer than it normally is, KC would have a Seattleish suicide rate.

I am sick of it.

I always enjoy a nice big snow, but a day later I wish it would go away.  I hate winter and the cold.  I would rather battle extreme heat and humidity.  I'm ready for lake season.

Had a conf. call at work today. Stayed an hour later than what I was supposed to. Office closed at noon, I left at 1:10. It took me 2 hours and 15 minutes to drive home. Normally takes 15-20 minutes. Yeah, I'm with ya sd.

I think you're jumping the gun a little too early here.

...back to the topic tho, snow is absolutely awful especially when it doesn't melt for two weeks.  :curse:

That snow day thing is like celebrating no longer having to type all the time at work because someone cut off a couple of your fingers.

I am not saying that snow days aren't a blast, but they are overrated. It's not like a professor says, "welp, guess this class won't be expected to learn everything that I had originally planned." Or my employer says, "welp dobber, you have to do one less day of work this year. Pick out something you were working on and throw it in the trash." It doesn't really decrease the amount of work or school work that you have to do.

dobber obviously didn't go on a snowday pubcrawl.

I SAID THEY ARE A BLAST!!!! I just remember being so stupid thinking, "one less day of school" when the amount of work that I needed to do never lessened one iota.

Dobber I think you are missing the fun/stick it to the man factor about snow days.

I noticed form now until next friday the temperature is supposed to be 50+ degrees for most of next week, even peaking into the 60's on Wednesday!  :crossfingers: :Woohoo:

Oh no, I get that. I even took my share of snow days when there wasn't any snow to be seen. I stuck it to the man when I wanted to, on my terms, not only when it snowed a crap-ton.
