point was to not take all of the bible literally, especially the numbers parts. that bill nye v. 6k years guy debate stuff.

well the bible was written a really long time ago so maybe the numbers worked fine back then and we have just changed how math works to suit our needs now.

One could believe the biblical account in Genesis and not believe that the Earth is 6k years old. In fact, an understanding of how things were recorded or written back then is almost a necessity.
