Okay, so that little collapse was ugly, but man... sometimes zeal pays off.
Of course we all loved Marcus and Will.
But I'm almost the most happy for DJamer. Just a huge performance on this stage.
Great minutes from Nigel Johnson too. Omari made some huge plays.
I love that Westicles has major stones and wants the ball when the game is on the line, but get it to Will or Marcus.
Guys, that was just so fun.
-
So happy for everyone. Myself especially.
-
Great minutes from Wesley Johnson too. Omari made some huge plays.
Was that intentional? If so :D
-
DJamer was a man tonight.
-
I am just so glad that I didn't have nightmares of "6 pts in 26 seconds"
12 KU OR and Ksu 11 DR 2nd half had me pulling wanting to punch the wall. Just soooo happy that we showed enough guts and heart in OT... and all that matters is....
WE GOT THE WIN!!
-
the omari curl play has me scratching my head but he's shown that he's able to take it strong to the rack and draw fouls so ok i guess
i need to inject a gallon of liquid xanax directly into my heart on every one of our inbounds
DJamer played great. its nice having guards who know how to get the ball into the block (as easy as it sounds, our guards the past 2 decades have been awful at getting the ball to our bigs).

Yeah, our pick and roll action has been really good this year. The bigs are good at slipping and the guards are executing a pretty tough pass to get it to them.
-
also, it's pretty great to think about how many meaningful minutes our freshman are contributing to this team
-
It was like KU had never seen the pick and roll in the second half. I guess they are so used to Embiid being the stopper they don't know how to defend it.
-
And DJamer finishing
-
This is sweet. Oh yes very sweet.
-
"I'm out. Do you need help?" Holy crap
-
I don't usually quote myself, but I'm sort of partial to this one:
But I want to be clear; its also a bunch of BS to think we can't win this game or we have to perfect game to win it. K-State is good enough to beat KU this season. I understand that its difficult with so many years of getting beat down and the 3 wins we have being partially due to strange phenomena (Wooly weirdness, Beasley/Walker, Pullen career game), but its also time (like most rivalries) that K-State starts to have some quality team wins in this series. I know I'm fighting against years of piss poor showings in this thing, but its time for this to change. (and I'm going to continue to believe this until it does or until I die, whichever comes first).

When will crossed over wiggins
-
i mean, seriously tho, if will is gonna play this well we can make the 2nd wknd of the tourney

:D
-
Omari taking it to the hole on lost possessions was big. Shane's attempt to throw off the leg was awful. Will needs to stop being the one I bounding the ball unless it's after a make and he can run the baseline.
-
Let marcus in Georgetown guy!
-
When will crossed over wiggins
I fell back in love with him like he was a freshman tonight. It wasn't even the shooting, he was busting his ass to every loose ball and just looked like he decided, "eff it I've had enough, I'm gonna go out and ball tonight"
-
I love you _Fan. The zeal I had from you made this so much better
-
"I'm out. Do you need help?" Holy crap
Yes, this was outstanding.
-
I told all my friends that "the guy on the blog that I read thinks we win by four or so"

Spradling played the best game I think I've ever seen from him
-
Even I was surprised by the effectiveness of those pick and rolls. Not because KU sucked at adjusting, but simply because they were that good at executing them.
Also, thanks KSU. That win over KU completely erased any highlights from that amazing WVU game THAT I COULDNT WATCH. :dubious:
-
1) Bench deserves a gold star. DJamer was awesome. But Omari and Nigel gave us some good minutes and made the some plays
2) Will's 3 in OT was HUGE!!!! We had just given up a 9 pt lead to force OT. Ku got the first 2 pts in OT. If we go down 4-5 pts, I don't think we had enough to battle back and get the W
3) First 38 minutes, we fought our tails off on Defense. KU had 59 pts in 60 poss (0.98) and held KU to 40.8 eFG. I know last 2 min of reg was not pretty... but damn I am so proud of our fight.
-
Spradling played the best game I think I've ever seen from him
I think so. Florida last year was pretty great, but tonight he was EMAWsome.
-
Spradling played the best game I think I've ever seen from him
Sprads was pretty complete tonight.
-
This just feels great and I am so happy right now. Couldn't make it to the game, but doesn't matter EMAWrs everywhere are :Woohoo:
-
Very impressed with Foster's improvement with shot selection, scoring much more efficiently.

I didn't want the ball to leave Will's hands tonight, I don't know what in the hell has gotten into him but I think it's neat.
-
I was very confident in Will tonight, and I wanted the ball in his hands, that crossover was just hilarious.
-
The fun thing is, we get until Saturday to do this: (https://goemaw.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.com%2Fa%2Fimg268%2F6338%2Fe76.gif&hash=5ed92a09ad647ec21b5fafe36e11bead4c377afd)

When will crossed over wiggins
This was just simply wonderful. I haven't laughed like that since Foster DOB'd Stockton.
-
Gutted them in the 2nd half. Shot chart

We basically ran perfect offense.

It's not Wiggins he crosses over. Still nice tho

2nd half offense was really incredible. The last 3 min of regulation was bad, but the other 22 min were superb
First 17 min = 37 pts in 25 poss (1.48), 77.2 eFG%, 11-14 on 2pt, only 3 TOs
Next 3 min = 3 pts in 9 poss (0.33) included 0-4 FGs, missed Nino layup, miss front end of 1-1 and 3 TOs
OT = 16 pts in 9 poss (1.82), 75.0 eFG%, 7-10 FT, 0 TOs
So that is 53 pts in 34 poss ( 1.56), 76.8 eFG, 14-19 2pt, 5-9 3pt, and only 3 TOs ... if you take out those bad 3 minutes :emawkid:
-
This is the first thread I've looked at, but if it hasn't been mentioned elsewhere sys owes DJamer a huge apology, and he better mean it.
-
Guys, I am so happy right now. That was just absolutely fantastic. Words cannot describe how great it was to watch. Well done everyone, well done.

pretty overwhelming, huh?

-
Just a fun game to be at! I felt bad for Shane. :frown: Hope he is OK. I felt he was starting to get into the groove at the start of the second half.
Double sandstorm!
JHR in the stands and yelling at Embiid or officials (couldn't tell)!
Officiating :shakesfist:
-

Embiid went skating for a minute there. Will finished the lay up on Wiggins though
-
No :Crybaby: from me. You guys have been uncanny at home (almost) all year. Some timely 3 pointers, but the bottom line is our interior D wasn't up to our standards, too many easy points given up inside. We were really sorry in the post.
-
In my opinion, the best play that Will made the entire night was when he zoomed out of the air and just ripped the ball from baby Embiid when it looked like he would have an easy dunk.
EDIT - Mods, please move this post to the "It's Time" thread. TIA

This is my fav part. Even Nigel played pretty well last night considering his recent PT.
-
Seeing Will play like he played last night makes it kind of infuriating to think what he could have done with his career if he wasn't so afraid to shoot for most of it. So don't do that.
-
Spradling played the best game I think I've ever seen from him
Will has been pretty great the last four games. This is what he could have been the last three years if he would have shot the ball instead of penetrating only to immediately retreat or if he would have pulled the trigger from three rather than hesitating and passing away unless wide open. He has grown much needed offensive courage the last few games.
-
I take back the mean things I said about Will. They were true, but I still take them back. I did want the ball in his hands going down the stretch.
-

I'm impressed with how efficient he's become on 2s, just as much as him making 3s.
-

Don't do that. For all you know you contributed to him pulling his big boy pants on.
-
Loved That One Dude's zeal at the end of the game and OT, but he really needed to pull those back and get the ball to Foster or Sprads and try to run more clock.
Still tho :ksu:
-
The block was rough ridin' amazing. Nails. I feel like anyone on this team can make a play. I can't remember us ever being this athletic as a team.

It was really something. Feel great for Spradling.

What a flopper.

Lowery is kind of making the same face.

it's nice that he had a good game at an opportune time.

felt the same way. he was almost as skilled as a freshman as he is now. he should have had a lot more games like this.

Thanks for saying it like that.

He just played one of the best games of his career. He should just do that every time.
-
SF99, you don't see a difference in how he played? Not talking production, but assertiveness with shots and drives? If not, you should take some time to reflect and rewatch some games(roughly 3.5 seasons worth).

I don't want Will to look to drive and score ever. If it's there then take it. If not, back it out and run the offense. He played great last night, I loved what he did. I don't think you can ever count on him to score in the lane consistently. I just want him to take open shots and hit them. I think he has taken a lot of open shots in his career, the difference last night was he made them. I feel like his D has been pretty underrated and steady for the last 2 years. He has played great help side D and fairly decent on the ball for 2 years now.
