I think we'll be leading at halftime
:horrorsurprise:

:Wha:
-
Cats are 11-3 ATS over their last 14.
I think we win tomorrow, fairly comfortably.
-
I think we lose by 15.
-
It's a trick you guise!
-
we are good at home
-
We're down 2-5 the whole game, KU pulls away with less than 5 mins left to win by 12-15.
-
Which home team shows up though, the team that played Texas Tech or the team that played Texas. Gotta think they come out energized for such a big game and the crowd is going to be insane so as long as KU doesn't take us out early I think we have a chance. Still think we lose though because we just can't guard their guys.

Where does gE go for online gambling now? Relevant to thread.

Didn't know Vegas did loss leaders. We are going to get rolled and smoked.
-
We can't score with them
-
Could see it being close as seff is just fine playing low score games

We will win... If we stay out of foul trouble.
-
Among Monday night's tv events, both the Love & Hip Hop reunion show and The Bachelor will be less predictable than our game.
-
We lose by 10+. Cats get embarrassed down low but whatevs the Texas win bought us an ass kicking with no real repercussions.
-
If we can keep them under 65 we will win.
-
The Texas win bought us insurance. To beat Kansas they'll have to shoot below their averages otherwise I expect another let down like last year. Trail by 5-6 and every time we make a push for the tie they answer.
Can Foster repeat that kind of outside shooting?

Ya, that UT win in the bag has me fearless, hope our guys feel the same way. Whatevs, guys, just roll the sucker out there and play. Who gives a crap if we lose.
-

I think it is more about our offense. If we can score 67 pts or more, then I like our chances better than 50/50. Gotta think pace is gonna be somewhere in the 63-64 area (our last 4 home games have been 63 or 64). I feel we can hold KU to under 1.05 ppp
Last 2 yrs at home vs KU we only managed to get 0.85 and 0.90 ppp. Both yrs we held Ku to 1.00 or lower. If we can do that again defensivly, the offensive production has to do enough to get the W

Why do people do this to themselves?
-
Seems about right
-
It's not likely that KU plays as well as they did against us in AFH, and it not likely that we play as bad as we did at AFH. I don't have any idea what that means for the score of the game. I hope we win.
-
All the pressure on our bros from Lawrence...if they lose this game, they have no identity left for the year. UT probably catches them...Crushing.
-
Why do people do this to themselves?
i think the lack of discussion about this game is actually indicative of most people accepting we will lose.
-
Why do people do this to themselves?
Why not?
KU isn't going to have a zero turnover half and I think it's likely we'll force quite a few. Just make them work to score, hit some shots, and don't get killed in the boards. It's doable.

We get it, you think we're going to lose.
-
Uphill battle? Sure.
But Kansas has had off nights by several starters. It's just that others picked up the slack. The interior is tough but has had some foul prone nights. Embiid has ridden the pine for much of the games lately due to foul trouble (often on help defense). Black can be a load SOME days, others he's a low scoring foul machine too.
Tharpe is hot on offense right now, but he's had some clanker nights too. And he gets beaten, a lot, on defense. His substitutes are a substantial drop off. Wiggins can take over a game or sleep walk through one, though his defense is usually solid.
Not a KSU strength, but Kansas has struggled against 3 point shooters coming off screens. Get hot on a few 3s and that extends the D quite a bit.
Already been covered, but Kansas doesn't take care of the ball well. Pressure D sometimes gets them flustered.
It isn't likely all these weak points show up at once, but several could.
If the KSU that played Texas, and the Kansas that played Texas both show up Monday.....

If we lose, I'll move on to Baylor. I love the Cats, but us winning or losing doesn't define me.
I still think we'll win.
-
We're going to win. Have you seen what we do to teams at home?
Did you guys see what UT did to KU? Embeed is a clusterfuck right now and if Tharpe gets in foul trouble they are totally mumped at guard.

Some squawk posted on phoggie that the "Cameroonian CheapShot Artist" may be limited, or out, due to back issues... Dunno how accurate that is however.

You all are totes adorbs. I think the Cats can certainly win, but they will not blow out the Jayhawks if they do. If a blowout is going to happen, which I don't think it will, it will be in favor of KU.

the last time a ranked KU team came into the Bram to face an unranked KSU team, KSU lost in a close one. but the time before that, KSU blew out KU. think about that everybody.

First off, thanks for the compliment. You guys are adorable sometimes too. Secondly, we're definitely going to blow you guys out.

A blowout (or win by more than 15 pts) is likely not gonna happen. But sports are just weird sometimes. Mo Cat already mentioned our 84-68 win 3 years ago. Very very few could have seen that coming. Texas used a 37-17 run to build a lead by 20 early 2nd have vs KU. Texas got the first basket of the game, then saw Kstate beat then down 37-12 over the next 17 minutes. Both were pretty shocking. Home court advantage can sometimes just be a very big difference maker. Even with KU's success in Manhattan, you guys are not immune to it happening over here.

Hey Jayhawks, my ZEAL and a POSSE are coming to get you. Be ready.

they don't have off nights against us. face it, theyre better than us. we win when our team plays well and we have a good crowd. who knows, that may be tonight, but probably not. this is their super bowl, they come to play.

This is one of the Self's worst teams and the youngest we have played since we have been good at basketball, Kenpom give us a 43% chance of winning. I believe youth can have a large effect on this game, hope is there for taking. :emawkid:

I would not say they don't have off nights against us (in Manhattan). 2 years ago, they only shot 43% eFG and had 0.95 ppp. 3 years ago, they had a high 26.1 TO% and had 0.99 ppp. Their defense has been pretty good the past few years over here. I will agree when we have played good (and mainly talking offense here) Kstate has won the game. 84 pts in both of the wins in 08' and 11'. We don't have to shoot the ball lights out like we did in those 2 wins, but the .90 and .85 ppp the last 2 years never gave us a shot

Last year was. 98 ppp and 21.7 TO% on defense.
All I'm asking is 1.05 ppp on offense and see what happens. Extremely doable.

ftr, mixed-nutz has picked ksu to beat ku every game since 1985.
give it a rest. every year its "theyre not that good this year... young team..." blah blah blah. guess what? that's how college bball works for good teams. they have young players because the good players don't stay 4 years. especially in the big 12 and even more especially for ku. our team is young as hell too. weve got 3 freshman that play big minutes and crapped their pants last time they played KU.
that's great, kenpom, but we still have a 57% chance of losing. I hope we win because it would all but solidify our tournament dreams, but I don't think we will. just how this works...
last 2 KU wins at home had Beasley/Walker and Pullen/McGruder leading the charge, guys who took over the games and were not afraid of KU. this team is afraid of KU and will lose, most likely.

Said hope and KU typically is the oldest or 2nd oldest team in the confrence because Bill stock piles talent and holds players back. Last time KU was really young was 09 and we were pretty shitty that year (NIT) and we had our monuments that year but we obviously weren't talent enough. Our NCAA tournament teams always battle KU at home.
