Sorry, I come from a place where my parents had to bust their ass for what we have. Now the government is trying to take it all away, just like these people.

LOL, I was raised by a single mother who was a school teacher.  Don't give me that crap.

You can bitch all you want, but when you need the government's help (and chances are you will, at some point), you'll stand in line.

But really, if these people are going to try and make some sort of dramatic point about how they hate the government/minorities/"dirty messkins," then they should at least learn to spell basic words.

I agree the tard needs to learn to spell. But I think they hate the government more than dirty messicans

Tea Party people were in Omaha yesterday.  Drove by there gathering on the way home.  They have a bus that travels around having big parties or something where everyone holds up signs and yells.  I kind of don't get it because they are all on the same side and are holding up signs and yelling at each other the entire time but if that turns them on power to them.  My first experience with this stuff.

You should have seen the Shenanigans by the anti-war protestors down on the Plaza.  You know back when there was a war to protest (I guess everything is cool now).  I almost hit those morons with my car a couple times, I guess they thought they had "right-of-way" in the middle of Broadway.  Totally oblivious, in more ways than one.

There's a lot of right-leaning dudes in my line of work. And I fondly remember making fun of dumbass protesters with them for 3-4 years. Now, one year later, I'm a reverse-racist bleeding-heart liberal for doing the exact same thing.

Srsly. If a dude can't non-partisanly make fun of stupid protesters, there's no point to living in DC.

Just pointing out how stupid it is to pick one person from a group of thousands, and then stereotyping the whole group based on that one person.  Of course if anyone cared to realize that Jon Stewart wouldn't have much of a show.

P.S.
I can't stand protesting in any form.  It's annoying, f's up traffic, and the people never pick up after themselves (including the so-called environmentalists)

My absolute favorites are the ones where the Tea-Paty-types have the Obama pictures with swastikas or Hitler mustaches on Obama.

The rough ridin' rubes don't understand the difference between communism and fascism...let alone the meaning of socialism.  Christ, the absolute best part of it is what they are advocating is closer to flat-out fascism than the Democrats are to socialism.

fascism is a sort of nebulous term.  The signs in these cases refer to nazi-ism--a shortening of national socialism.  It really differed very little from marxian socialism except for one very distinct difference.  One was nationalist, the other was internationalist.  Either way, they were for massive expansion of the state, and cradle to grave "care," control of means of production, and one party oligarchic rule.

Just because they named their party "national socialist" party doesn't mean they were socialist.  Just because Jonah Goldberg has a thesis about this, doesn't mean that it is an established or accepted theory or historical fact.

Not really.

We have data that shows how badly our public education system is failing us.

Individual responsibility being diminished is an obvious result of increasing welfare and nanny states.

The left promotes placing our eggs in the government basket that fails us here and makes it easier to be a burden on society with no productivity or responsibility. People are flawed, they abuse systems, they abuse welfare, they demand socialistic programs to stay that way.

So a little of both, with the source of the problem stemming from the left's lack of thought.

By your logic, public education would be vastly improved by dropping mandatory attendance.  I guess it all goes back to first order values then doesn't it?

It goes back to people wishing to pursue self-interests. If a lack of a public education were to lead to certain failure, that would promote getting an education since success is dependent on it.

If people want to ditch school, perhaps they deserve next to nothing as a result of producing next to nothing.

Instead, we allow people that can work to not work and yet receive money from the government. People get incentives not to make too much for fear of higher taxes. People who are perfectly healthy will soon pay a large percentage of their income to cover junk food eating deadbeats who head to the doctor every other week.

I don't want people to fail, I wish everyone could be provided for. But it isn't practical. And it sets up a system of government in which there is no innovation and the productivity of the few is exploited for the others. If I know a safety net is below, why not go ahead and fall?

As we all (should) know, marxism is internationalist, based on classes rather than nation-states.  That's internationalist.

Either way, its statism.  That old model of right and left are gone anyway.  Its big government vs small now.

While that's all well and good (by 1941, Hitler himself admitted Marxist socialism and his national socialism was basically the same), no one associates Hitler with socialism in this day and age.  People driving by and seeing a hitler mustache on the president would make most people think "WTF...those people think Obama is anti-semitic?  Wierdos..."

That kind of thing discredits the entire group.

a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.[the state]
2.
procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.
3.
(in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

As we all (should) know, marxism is internationalist, based on classes rather than nation-states.  That's internationalist.

Either way, its statism.  That old model of right and left are gone anyway.  Its big government vs small now.

btw...I hear there was a major bust of pirates in the Indian Ocean.  Lose any friends?

While that's all well and good (by 1941, Hitler himself admitted Marxist socialism and his national socialism was basically the same), no one associates Hitler with socialism in this day and age.  People driving by and seeing a hitler mustache on the president would make most people think "WTF...those people think Obama is anti-semitic?  Wierdos..."

That kind of thing discredits the entire group.

Just because the viewer doesn't understand their history doesn't make the signholder wrong.

My absolute favorites are the ones where the Tea-Paty-types have the Obama pictures with swastikas or Hitler mustaches on Obama.

The fracking rubes don't understand the difference between communism and fascism...let alone the meaning of socialism.

Prove it wrong.

The burden of proof is on the affirmative.

Nice cop out.

Disprove it then.

Nevermind, I'll do your work for you.  From the dictionary.

Yeah, I hate to strike a blow for that side, but what you said discredits uneducated "people driving by."

I understand what you guys are saying, but a Hitler mustache conjures up different ideas, rather than socialism.  It would be akin to throwing a turban and Bin Laden beard on Jerry Falwell and saying "Get it?  They're both fervent about religion!"

If you think the sign in the upper right has "student" spelled right I worry about you.

if you read it more carefully, it was a sick burn against Dubya.  So in that case, it was spelled correctly.

LOVE hillbillies/rednecks.  Love them.

You mean real hard working Americans?

I'm guessing you're still in college from all the south park pictures.  So, in that case, you know jackshit about "real hard working Americans."

Well he might still be in college but I would agree with him. I grew up on a farm/ranch and those "rednecks" work for us and bust their asses working daily. Those "rednecks" are the ones that grow the food you eat. Anything from corn to ribeyes. Maybe you dont know anything about real work. It takes all types for our country to work because the stuff you need to survive doesnt just magically appear in Walmart. Let me guess you believe milk comes from the grocery store?

People who grew up on farms aren't generally rednecks, because they're rich.  (I mean really rich).

I agree with all of you but think about it. Who works for you? Rednecks, Mexicans, German Mennonites; these are the type of ppl that work for our families. They work hard and appreciate the jobs that they are given. Most large farms couldnt survive without their help. Im not saying the guy running the show is a redneck. Im not saying their poor, cuz im not claiming that I'm not well off. Im saying that if you grew up on a farm you know what hard work is and the guys that work for you know what hard work is aswell

I'm from Garden City, bro.  I know about farms and stuff.  And mexicans.

Question:  Do you own a confederate flag?  (pretty big redneck thing)

Hell no I'm not a redneck, I give rednecks crap all the time. Im from western KS aswell. My point is they know what hard work is because they have to put in the work to provide for their families. Also going back to the original post just because someone supports their 2nd amendment rights doesnt make them a redneck. Being conservative doesnt make them a redneck, it doesnt make them radical, it makes them practical they want to make decisons for themselves and dont want the gov. telling them what they HAVE to do.

Totally oblivious, in more ways than one.

meh, I don't get worked up over either group.  a lot of people are naturally attracted to large gatherings and groupthink.

It's like you tried not to go off on a crazy person rant but you couldn't help yourself and fell into it  :users:

if that's a crazy person rant. . .
