FAN and other HFBIQ types weigh in: Do you agree with the author that a team has very little control over turnovers, on either side of the ball? I wonder if this isn't a misinterpretation of the data.

If the interpretation is correct, would this be true in basketball as well?

There was another thread about this a while back. Yes, defenses have some control over forcing fumbles, getting to the football, and causing pressure or disguising coverages leading to interceptions. However, there are numerous fumbles that are recovered simply by being in the right spot which is often just luck. I think it's significant enough to say teams don't have complete control over turnovers in football.

attention fans of the "oh man!" thread: there is another similarly titled thread "oh man" over on the combo board so if you've had enough of "oh man!" then why not head on over to "oh man" and check it out?

Didn't our team just do really well in all of these statistical categories except turnovers (10%), and just finish the regular season 7-5?

I finally got around to reading this, and I accept I was wrong about Waters/Sams. Move Sams to WR, permanently.

Is very good. And yes, the numbers suggest that is a good idea.
