Didn't UTSA back out?
-
Didn't UTSA back out?
they canceled the '14 game in manhattan,
still scheduled @UTSA in '15 and back in manhattan for '18
wouldn't be surprised if @UTSA '15 gets canceled
-

i think that's week one in '15
yes that's right because labor day is the first monday on the 7th.
-
UTSA backed out of the '14 home game? didn't we just add them to the '14 schedule? how did i miss it already
-

-
2016
9/10 - Charlotte
TL Ford :shakesfist:
-
IIRC, UTSA would have to pay us ~$500K if they backed out of the '14 game and we still made the trip there in '15. If the entire series is cancelled then they wouldn't have to pay us.
-
man we really need to schedule texas southern for 42cats sake
-
also fwiw, Manny Diaz just got hired by La Tech

Oh man, I know we're playing the defending national champs this year, but the rest of it: really? I wish we would schedule some Big 10 schools. (Maybe they won't do home-and-homes with us, I don't know.)
-
defending runner up, actually
-
can't imagine we could schedule a home and home with any big 10 school except like minnesota or indiana.
-

Oh. Right. :Stickout Tongue:
-

i would like to play Northwestern and start a thread just completing trashing their sissy purple school color and wildcat mascot

would love the play northwestern.
-
An SEC pud like Kentucky would be great.
-
Arizona for the Wildcat Trifecta?
-
:flush:
-
How about creating some rivalries. These are among the nonconference teams we've played the most:
BYU, 8 games
Wyoming, 8 games
Arizona, 7 games
Arizona St., 6 games
Iowa, 6 games
Indiana, 5 games
Michigan State, 5 games
Some of them are better than others, but it would be cool to try to get a smattering of these teams (or NW or Kentucky) on our future schedules.
And, yes, a NW, Kentucky and Arizona Wildcat trifecta schedule would be awesome.
-
I think it would be cool to schedule a home and home with Nebraska.
-
Well I'll tell you right now that SB can't wait for that game at the Alamodome. :excited: :excited:
-
I think it would be cool to schedule a home and home with Nebraska.
I'd rather do one with Colorado.

Every fan of every school thinks scheduling Indiana or Minnesota is a good idea.

-
i think we should adopt the basketball only play where you recruit philo. we kind of already have.
-
I can only assume that's what @UTSA is.
-
science, you're doing it!
-
The fact that we have to go @ any school in Texas not named the goddamn University of Texas pisses me off. We're K-State for chrissakes, we are above that.
-
Yeah. Pretty weird. Also, I don't think San Antonio is anywhere near Dillon. What are we even doing??
-

i don't disagree with you, but okie state played there this year. i wonder what the appeal is.
-
well i mean if you can't understand the appeal of playing in a good sized destination type city that hosts bowl games against a team that you should pretty easily beat and also happens to be within driving distance to a large number of alumni as well as current, former and hopefully future players then i'm not really sure what to tell you.

yeah i'm sure recruits will choose k-state because they played a non-con in san antonio that one time

i don't think that one bit and i'm not sure why you would, but ok. i mean, people around here have said stupider things i suppose.
-
Hey guys coaches (recruiters) promise crap all the time to recruits to get them to sign. Sometimes they deliver, like when we played Loyola Chicago for Jake.
-
Its the nature of scheduling now. It used to be you could get 2 for 1 deals with MAC level teams, but now you have to go down to the bottom level FBS teams for a 2 for 1 for most programs. Only FCS teams go 1 game paydays with BCS level teams anymore and anyone else is a 1 for 1 or maybe you can swing a neutral site type game like in Arrowhead.

I don't think any recruits have or ever will choose K-State for any single factor.

yes. which is why when forced to schedule a 2 for 1 with one of those teams, san antonio is about as good as it gets. close to alumni, recruits, former players. nice city. good weather. i mean do i need to go on? would people rather do a 2 for 1 with akron?
-
what happened to our game @UCF?

we bought out of it a couple years ago

RD I think I might go to the game down in SA. Let me know if you go also and we'll meet up pregame and have a beer or something

Exactly rd. Go ahead and keep tearing up these fools in this thread.
-
Really crappy FBS teams (FIU, FAU, some sun belts) still seem like they will do a game without a return game.
-
I cannot wait to travel to San Antonio. Great out of conference scheduling for recruiting and making the players happy. Plus, that riverwalk!
-

True, still a few of those.
-
I hope we keep them on the schedule get paid the $500k. If we do I will be making the trip to San Antonio. Hopefully by then the Fannman won't push me in the Riverwalk. :ohno:

That all seems logical, but what about the appeal of scheduling a Wildcat trifecta of teams (NW, UK, UA)? Sometimes the things in life that will make us happy can't be quantified.

I imagine if you were to plot dopamine levels over time and integrate the graph over some constraints happiness could be quantified.

quit validating utsa already

I would be ok with KSU getting a reputation of only playing OOC games in Manhattan or in the state of Texas.

I would never do that. Water under the bridge, literally.
