Anyone ever seen strange things flying or a UFO?
I've seen a few things but I am pretty sure that they could be explained. A few years back I saw an extremely strange looking object moving at what appeared to be very high altitude on a clear very early spring day. But it didn't move very fast and I willingly conceded that it may have been a weather balloon albeit it wasn't moving in a direction usually associated with high altitude winds over the U.S.
I've also seen strange lights from time to time, but I believe in many instances I was seeing the 'flare' from either the space station or a satellite. Albeit again on several occasions the singular light did not follow the typical path associated with objects orbiting the earth.
I work with someone who claims to have seen one of or the notorious huge black triangle(s) pass over their vacation home on the coast. She said everyone else on the deck saw it as well, and they were only mildly engaged in intake of various libations.

I saw the Northern Lights on LHC Bill Snyder Highway one time. I didn't know what it was until a few days later I saw the news report. Just a big hovering green mass in the sky. I thought it was reflection on the windshield or something.

dax where do you live?

I've seen two ghosts and plenty of UFO's in my day. My dad saw Jesus in the K-State library one time. My blood has pretty much seen it all.

i grew up just a few miles south of a bombing range(they dropped bombs filled with flour) so i got to see all of the military planes. i've seen some cool stuff like A10s firing, B1-Bs flying over the treetops, countless B2s, a couple B-52s, etc.
the only strange thing i saw was the night they were dropping battlefield flares. we knew exactly what was going on but it was still spooky to see the line of brightly glow balls suspended in the sky.

When I was in Manhattan, I would see the flares at Ft. Riley all the time. I think the so called Phoenix Lights were flares.

Was leaving my little bro's freshman football game one night and I saw a a long craft of some sort with yellow lights a long ways off towards the east. It was just sitting there, like hovering. 2 seconds later, it took off to the south, extremely fast and was gone. Future Mrs. Harry Doyle was with me and saw it too. Still convinced it was a UFO.
I may or may not have seen a ghost, I was really tired at the time and may have just hallucinated it.
Great thread.

My friend, you saw a ghost. At least it wasn't the ghost dog that use to follow me around at my grandmas house. :ohno:

When you eventually make your reality tv debut, you have to use this as the main body of your bio.

i've seen weird things, but i think most UFOs have an explanation...just maybe not a public one.
-
For a period of time in the late 90s and early 2000s I saw a number of instances of falling meteor debris/shooting star around the Wichita area. The debris was small and must have been the type that burns up before reaching the earths surface.

There are UFO's but they aren't extraterrestrial. These are all man made and super secret. The physics of interstellar travel just isn't plausible. Sorry all. No such thing as ETs visiting or ghosts... Fun thread though.

For the technology that we know, you are correct.
-
Our military industrial complex rolled out the SR-71 (and it's variants) in the early 60's, imagine what they have today.
I do agree that the technology we have now isn't capable of inter-stellar travel, but if somebody else out there exists, they may have it.

O man, was just telling the1bigwillie about a cattle mutilation story my gpa told me back in the day.
Pretty straight forward, calf found in the pasture, other cows would not go near it, no eyes, no tongue and no blood in or around the calf. Gramps even showed me some pictures they took :sdeek:. There were no signs of trauma on the skin of the calf, it was just there, all shriveled up missing its eyes and tongue. He never said "Yup, aliens did this" but they had no idea what happened.
This was western KS fyi.

That was King zocoplasim from galaxy zocoloco. Him and his team use to visit my area all the time when I was in Garden City. Nice guy tho.

Saw a thing on that awhile back. One theory is it's a secret gov't operation to see if anything bad has been introduced into the food supply/live stock. The logic behind the theory is that the U.S. has engaged in clandestine sabotage of ag operations/food production in other countries, who is to say someone couldn't do it to us?

When the B-2s were stationed at McConnell, I used to see them fly over my grandparents house at low altitude pretty frequently. Really something to see, an impressive craft. Also saw a Tralfamadorian ship one time near Boston. So it goes.

Rush was discussing chem trails the other day with some gal in New Hampshire. He sounded like a bozo.
Though it was the only time I have heard his show in several years so maybe that's old news

i wonder if those hypersonic projectiles you see in popular science burn up the atmosphere around them when traveling at mach 20? that would be something to see at night.
has anyone else seen the northern or southern lights? are they worth traveling to a cold place? my dad is fascinated by them and i'd like to take him north one of these winters for a viewing.

They are pretty neat. Northern Minnesota in winter is a good spot.

Dax may be on to something....The other story that goes with the cow found mutilated is that a bunch of farmers were seeing weird crap flying low to the ground but completely blacked out around the same time my gramps found the calf. One night a farmer shoots at one of these objects and was visited by some federal agents the next day...he had shot at a military helicopter. This was late 70's FYI.
For all I know this story could be an old farmer's tale but its fun to talk about anyways!

I'm not sure you dorks are aware of this but when an animal dies the tongue and eyes are the first things eaten because the birds can't or don't want to tear through the hide.

That's been discussed early and often, but what some reports say is that there's no sign of footprints, and various body parts appear to be removed with laser precision, no tearing or pecking, and that other animals won't go near it.

Normally animals crowd around a rotting corpse of one of their species. Spooky

there isn't a less plausible explanation than bloodsucking aliens.

I'm not talking about the cows gathering around Stoney.
Anywho, I am fully down with the the possibility that if these so called mutilations are the work of humans, that's it's probably a gov't operation to make sure there hasn't been any bio-terrorism, and it's easier to have it be "UFO's" than to just show up and announce that they just want to make sure some terrorist hasn't introduced mad cow into the herd.
