Title: Stan Weber Recap (810 Radio border patrol)
Post by: steve dave on January 03, 2014, 09:05:55 AM
(first had to listen to Greg DeArmond talk about SEC superiority for 15 minutes and that last night meant nothing....oh, and how OSU could actually win tonight since bowls don't matter).

-First, Chiefs talk.  Stan thinks KC the better team and would win 2 out of 3 games.  Since KC already lost one, this one will go Chiefs way.  KC advantages:  Running the ball and ST.  Advantages for Indy:  FG kicker.

-KSU bball:  K-State has transformed themselves in December.  GW is a really good team....and they shredded them.

-We've already talked about how this year mirrors last year....but now again with OSU coming to town for first league game.  It was big last year.

-Absence of Michael Cobbins.....how can KSU exploit.  In any game, you look at match-ups and who you can maybe lay off of.  With Cobbins out, KSU can now hedge a little more aggressively on Smart.....do more double teams on Smart.

-Stan has never seen a K-State defense lock down this good for this long a stretch.

-Stan, recap FB season:  This may not be a popular opinion, but I think bowl games matter.  You only play 13 games.  Winning it really is giant.....especially against Michigan.  When 2-4, they were hoping to get to 6 wins.  They got to 8 by winning 6 of their last 7.  Huge.

-KSU nation will never forget beating Michigan.

That logic rules.

ESPN after the game last night said that Bowls don't matter, but the NC does.  :surprised:
