huh, just another dumb opinion?

QB - should be good enough to win 8 games.   I assume it will be jake.
RB/FB - who the f knows at RB, Hubes isn't impressive but was steady, would like more explosion, but doubt we get that - can't wait to see what Gronk looks like next season
OL - lose 3sr's (but really only two spots as Stiverson can fill in at RG).  OT's will be ?'s.  Can Luke Hayes step in?
WR - need Andre Davis to step in and make plays (I suppose this is where Sams could fit in).
TE - hopefully Trujllo can be Tannahill his sr yr.

DL - I expect them to wreck crap next year
LB - if Dvonta makes it, could be an upgraded unit, plus i'm looking for someone out of Davis, Moore, Dakorey, and Ramirez to make an impact
CB - could have been the weakest unit this past year - I don't see how they aren't better - but will rely on juco kids, so we'll see how they improve.  please god let one of them be nigel Malone and actually be a threat to pick off those hitch routes we love to concede.
S/FS - can't replace Zims.  Barnett has to get better/bigger/more disciplined.  Interested to see if Travis Green can be decent.

If our OL and secondary can be better, if we don't turn the ball over, we should at a minimum win 8 regular season games.  Can't stumble in our winnable road games (ISU, WVU, TCU).

I am not worried either as long as Ian Muehler doesn't turn into Ryan Campbell.

there is a voice in my head that says "what if the DL next year is like the OL this year, where we thought they'd be good and were just average?".  I dunno.  I think they should wreck it next year, but that voice, SD, that voice.

The oline got more credit than they deserved for the Klein years.

Yeah, but we also went from basically never getting penalties to being a huge group of bumbling dummies for the first several games this year.

Going from CK to Jake was like puting tape on the bottom of cats(oline) feet for some reason.

but some didn't recognize this until this year.   :ohno:  and when I say some, I mean like most of the fan base.

I think, at a minimum, people expected the kind of improvement you typically see when you return an entire offensive line.

The regression of Lucas and the plateau of Rooks kind of hurt.  Finney seemed to not get that much better, too, but I could be thinking of a few bad snaps here and there to skew my perception.

Was surprised when the announcer Saturday said Lucas signaled every run/pass by his stance. I mean, Stan would point out when tackles from other teams did that but he didn't see Lucas? Or Mr. Obsessive HCBS? Must have been something they couldn't coach out of him.

While DL is the position group returning a ton of contributors I would suggest reviewing the OU game before deciding to not worry let alone wreck anything.

I hope Tanner Wood pans out better than Laton Dowling. All I've seen point to Wood being a stud so im very hopeful... plus, sd was hyping Will Geary awhile back and he looks like a baby Britz

This guy has a pretty impressive background - stud wrestler and power lifter. I took notice of him on the sideline during the BWWB and he is built just like Tank Reese. Hopefully he can continue to put on a few pounds to get above 300.

Well I have a new favorite player. I had that same bowl haircut from age 4 until I went bald.

Plus, this adorable stud/boss blast-from-the-past agrees.

Quote
In fall camp, Ryan Mueller challenged Kansas State’s underclassmen with a question they may not have been expecting, but one every young player faces early in his career.

“Do you just want to be a T-shirt guy? Are you happy with just wearing the gear around campus and are you satisfied with that?” Mueller, the former walk-on and this year’s Big 12 defensive lineman of the year, recalls asking. “Or do you want to raise your level, raise your game?”
