Did you or do you have a favorite emaw professor? Who? Why?
-
If this thread is about praising professors now, I submit Dr. Bennett as best.
-
Dr. Linder.
-
He was the best at teaching and did zany crap like ride a bike down the lecture hall steps and jump up on the desk

Re: Bennett

John Graham was an absolute stud for the first month of Professional Financial Planning and then he got terminal cancer

Re: Bennett
I 2nd Bennett
Also Dan Andressen
-
michele janette = studette
-
dr stanton was dyslexic or something and always mumped up 1s and 0s when teaching binary stuff and let me retake a test i slept through and apologized to me about it
-
Dr. Linder.
Stud. Dr. Blake was my favorite.
-
College of BA: Marketing: Dr. David Andrus.
-
College of BA: Marketing: Dr. Swinder Janda.
-
Mrs. Bones had Dr. Linder, but I did not. She swears by him. Others who have had him and who I know love the guy. Good enough for me.
-
oscar rough ridin' Law. He floated a pen in the air with an air compressor and looked like a tekken character. Next?
-
Dr. Robert Edwards will run circles around you on the 88 black and whites. Arthur Brown can verify.
-
I had professional selling with Lehman. WHAT A NICE GUY!
-
Scotty Hendrix will always have a place in my heart
-
Rog' Trenary. Was also my advisor.
-
i liked kathy brockway, she's at KSU SALINA campus now. great student advocate. also, lloyd letcher (stud boss), also i liked most of my profs. i took gymnastics and can't remember the ladies name but she was nice too.
-
Dr. Eric Higgins
Hendrix was great in the classes beyond Finance 400
Rodney Vogt in really small classes, could spend 20 min of class talking fishing (@benji)
-
Eric Higgins, yeah you come into class looking fine as hell in your all purple suit

Dr. Linder was a complete stud. One time he taught class dressed as a monk.
-
you guys are the reason america is falling behind the rest of the world in academics.
prof criteria: dress as monk? dress in purple suit?
-
College of BA: Marketing: Dr. David Andrus.
The Dave was pretty great. Except for when he would stop class and have a 5 minute phone convo with his son...in the classroom.
My favorite The Dave moment was when he deducted 10 points from everyone's grade who skipped class the Tuesday morning after we beat #1 Texas in '10. He claimed there were no days off in the real world. He must've been a little EMAW on the inside, because those 10 points showed back up in my final grade. :Woot:

Rog' Trenary. Was also my advisor.
also Chris Sorenson...I learned more in his engineering physics classes than any other class I took in college. I think he was also a rugby dude too.

haha that guy was a trip
-
I realize now that I posted in the wrong thread, this is the correct one...
Anyone ever have Jimmy Doyle for a philosophy course?
-
Dr. Charles Sanders. I would take any class he taught.
-
theres a professor who teaches geography who looks like nigel from the wild Thornberry's. biggest stud out there.
-
Charles, or chuck something, I think was his name.

chuck martin!

One of the most interesting people I've ever talked to. Took a one hour discussion class with him freshman year called Great Ideas in Science or something and it was one of the most enjoyable classes I ever took.
-
Charles, or chuck something, I think was his name.
chuck martin!
YEAH!!! :emawkid:

Dr. Eric Higgins
Hendrix was great in the classes beyond Finance 400
Rodney Vogt in really small classes, could spend 20 min of class talking fishing (@benji)
Higgins hands down best prof in college of BA. Hendrix has the attitude of a millionaire who never actually made his millions. Rodney Vogt is a tool.
-
Joe Unekis
Most of his lectures rambled on into some bizarre tangent. A lot of people hated him but I got a couple of nice GPA boosters from him.

It would always make a pass on the cold war and how the russians had missiles pointed at us read to go any second, he worked on an AF base in ohio that some plane crashed on??? Very weird guy but I got an A.

I liked his lectures. some of the tests were tough.

His survey class was great. Best lecturer I had.

You're an accounting master :-)
And I've never understood what Hendrix' deal was. Seems like he could be making a lot more elsewhere. He seems to really love teaching though, and that's respectable.
-
Forest Miller was also great
-
Larry Glasgow
+1 on Forest Miller
-
I would be interested in hearing about why you guys are praising FR Miller
-
My favorites were classes that had nothing to do with my major. I second goEMAW favorites of oscar Law and and appreciation of architecture guy. Law was ridiculous. You would walk into class and see some crazy experiment set up.
-
Forest Miller was also great
calculus teacher?
-
I would be interested in hearing about why you guys are praising FR Miller
Thought he explained Calc 3 well, made it interesting. :dunno: Was the first math class I had in college and I had to learn to take notes quickly, but other than that it was good. Learned a lot, wasn't too difficult, etc.

Thats very interesting. We must have very different brains. I feel basically the opposite of everything you said.
-
yup. miller was a stud. fair teacher.
theres a fairly young ME professor who taught my thermo class who was pretty good, 8mp. he had a daughter who went to lousville and talked about her a lot. any idea?

Dr. Lease probably. Wanklyn's kid is only like two so probably not Louisville. He is a fantastic teacher too, by the way.
-
John Graham was an absolute stud for the first month of Professional Financial Planning and then he got terminal cancer
total badass
-
I really enjoyed Dr. Pacey. He got me excited about engineering in the beginning and then again at the end after I was burned out and bitter.
He seems to have survived terminal cancer several times

Anybody surprised that Eastcat would hate Hendrix?
Hendrix probably knows more than you'll ever know in the world of finance and economics and based on your posts it's not even a contest.
-
All of them have already been mentioned ITT, but Dave Andrus, Swinder Janda and David Lehman were all total stud bosses. The Dave was probably my favorite teacher I had while at Kansas State University.
-
I also enjoyed the dude who did Radinas, though I think I have heard differing opinions on him in the past. Played a B-Ball game during class once and his class seemed to have real world application. Some Business Ethics guy I had was fun too.

i always knew hendrix as the guy who taught me to use a BA II Plus
-
TRENARY - one of my first classes at KSU, ECON 101. He explained the basics very well and his teachings stick with me to this day. May he rest peacefully.
Dr. Che, M.I.S. - I'm glad he knew the subject matter and was able to give a more clearer picture of system design.
Hendrix - knows his shizzle
Fallon, marketing - funny ass southeren old fart.
-
Did any of you guy ever take a class taught by John Maginnis? Oh man, what a hair cut!
-
Don't remember any names but my econ 101 instructor was smoking hot.

This thread makes me miss school guys.

Me and my buddies called him "Space Wade" because the first day of class he told some story about Nasa spending millions to develop a pen that would write in space while the russians just used pencils.
Dr. D (Donita Whitney?) was also great prof. Little crazy but really fun.

obvs talking about the Rog here.

My praise was tongue-in-cheek. He's an oddball, erases the board and writes simultaneously making it hard to read, and wears the same jacket that he did 30 years earlier when he taught my dad. I honestly don't remember how good or bad of a teacher he was.

love Babcock. Is he Trenary/Flinchbaugh stud level? Well, no. But he is solidly on Lloyd Thomas stud level.

cool story bro
-
Who is the guy in Cardwell with the '85 royals jacket? He taught the first class I took here. Probably been named several times
-
I liked Lloyd Thomas because he gave me good grades and gave reidrolled less good grades. I didn't really like Kuester(sp) until I talked to him outside of class. He is a Mizzou superfan on a gE type level.
-
Paukstelis (sp?) for all the chemistry classes was pretty legit.
-
Paukstelis (sp?) for all the chemistry classes was pretty legit.
I liked her. A lot people hate her apparently.
I figured out after awhile that I could sleep in and go to the other guy's 1130 and be just fine though.

He was hosting a conference realignment discussion with the Econ club. I was clowning him, thanks to the smoke your cigars thread
-
Paukstelis (sp?) for all the chemistry classes was pretty legit.
yeah shes awesome if you like not being able to understand your teacher and quizzes for points every single morning at 8:30 :flush:
I took the british guy for chem 2. he was cool.

Probably different brains. 8MP just fanningbragged his ass off and told us that his math abilities are basically godlike.
Gonna win 'em all!

I don't remember a hot Econ teacher.

Would have been 89-90 school year.
-
Paukstelis (sp?) for all the chemistry classes was pretty legit.
-imately terrible. Paukstelis supporters outed! Wasn't she the reason the COE lowered the GPA requirements on some scholies so 99% of the freshman wouldn't lose them?

hated Paukstelis, but Aakeroy was and is a total Chem/Swedish stud
Bossman is the best Chem teacher at KState
I had a soft spot for Janis Crow in marketing, because she seemed to get so confused by her own lecture material...and then make it up to you by giving really easy tests.
-
Harold Prins
He tried to get me to switch my major to Cultural Anthropology after I crushed his intro course.

that chicat, was dr. michael donnelly. an absolute stud. he along with dr linder and kimball smith were my favorite profs.
-
Mick Charney and Craig Parker, total studs.
-
The guy who taught history of rock and roll online. He was a complete stud for putting that class together.
