So I've pretty much fallen off playing video games ever since anything post-N64. But I still love my old games. Let's discuss.
Favorite game of all time: Donkey Kong for Super Nintendo
Game I've logged the most hours playing: Goldeneye on N64
Best multi-player game: Mario Kart on N64
Most underrated game: Banjo-Kazooie on N64
Game I get the angriest at whenever I play it: Mario Party on N64
Game I wish I would have played more: Duckhunt on Nintendo
What say you, gE'rs? Feel free to make your own category!

Man, I love N64. Still got that beast hooked up in the living room. Mario Kart makes for a great drinking game and I totally agree about B-K being underrated. I used to play the crap out of that back in the day.
-
hardest rough ridin' game to ever beat: battletoads NES
best multiplayer game (non-n64 category): NBA Jam Tournament Edition SNES
-
Favorite game of all time: FF8 (not 7 :dunno:)
Game I've logged the most hours playing: Tecmo Super Bowl
Best multi-player game: RBI Baseball
Most underrated game: RBI Baseball I guess
Game I get the angriest at whenever I play it: Mario 3
Game I wish I would have played more: I guess some of the later (N64'ish) Zeldas? They seem to be well thought of but I never played them.

I was actually going to put that Mario Kart made the best drinking game, but I figured best multi-player game pretty much implies that it's the best drinking game. We tried to make a drinking game out of Mario Party, but it wasn't as fun.

Actual best multiplayer game ever and most time played game: super bomberman on super nintendo
-
RBI Baseball drinking game is great, do/did other people play that?

Maybe one day you can come over to casa de ERII and get your ass kicked in Mario Kart while we drink expensive craft brews.

EA Sports its in the game..

hmmmm, maybe rbi baseball wasn't underrated afterall.
i never really played it until age 19 or so. entered my list purely as a top drinking game (ok, guess i didn't even make a list yet). can't vouch for whether it's any fun to actually play or not

Loved Goldeneye and Blitz.
Lots of drunk CNS1998 playing of both of those.

Favorite game of all time: FF8 (not 7 :dunno:)

I loved Tecmo Super Bowl III: Final Edition on SNES so very much. Free agency and trades and create your own player! No way! Then if you won three straight super bowls with the same team it unlocked a butt load of hall of famers you could sign in FA! You could also break all-time season records like most TDs or sacks or receptions or whatever! I could get like 7-8 sacks a game with a good DE or OLB. :excited: So great.

regular super tecmo bowl was just so fun. being the eagles would just infuriate people because you could just run qb eagles all over the place for forty seconds in the backfield and then at the last second fire some stupid pass just before you cross the LOS to a wide open keith jackson standing in the middle of the field or an incredibly keith byers or heath sherman that managed to sneak out of the backfield. then you just lol and they slam a controller and then you lol and do it again.

Sega Madden 93, Bills, Sacks and sacks and sacks and sacks.

Has anyone ever successfully landed a plane in Top Gun on NES?
Yes, after a couple of hours of playing I accidentally figured out how to control the throttle on the way down to the carrier.
Spent countless hours playing Mario Kart 64 and Goldeneye (Double RCP-90 )
I also enjoyed the hell out of Excitebike on NES and making crazy custom tracks

Most Frustrating Game: Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
This was probably my favorite game of all time. Beat it and Majora's Mask like 20 times each.
Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball was awesome, Mariners were unstoppable.
Sonic the Hedgehog was also one of my favorite games.

OMG its blades of steel my favorite game ever. I played the hell out of that game until I discovered NHL '94. NHL '94 had the easiest cheat ever, all wrap arounds resulted in goals, I beasted that game with the Canucks.
I had an atari when I was a kid and I only played atari football and pitfall. Other old school games I loved:
sonic the hedgehog
has no one mentioned punchout yet? The characters were great.
RBI Baseball was great but it was very frustrating when you hit a homerun and the ball would get stuck on the wall and you would have to restart the game
Baseball Stars was awesome
Contra
-
1. put rbi baseball on "CPU vs CPU"
2. half your group picks one team, the other, well, the other
3. drink "once" per base hit given up (one for single, two for double, etc.). chug beer for homerun. make up other rules as complex as you want.
4. ????
5. profit

RBI Baseball was great, but I preferred Bases Loaded II when it came out.
Also, the original Road Rash for Sega Genesis was great. It finally put together the fun of games like Rad Racer, but you could make it past the third level and enjoy a single game for 30+ min.
Other great games not as popular at Tecmo Super Bowl but were still very good included Ninja Gaiden, RC Pro-AM, and Bubble Bobble. If you have 20 minutes to kill, Blue Marlin is also fun.

Did anybody ever figure out how to win River City Ransom??
I would get to the last block and just jump and stand around.
Was there ever a final ending to that game?
-
blitz was the bomb...which is weird because the bomb was the best play on the game.
-
Also, for Sega Genesis NFL Football 94 Starring Joe Montana was a great game. Later they came out with a college football clone as College Football National Championship with 32 teams. They then cloned it again for CFNC II where they kicked out 5 teams, replaced them, and added a couple things like stat keeping. While neither college game had KSU, all three games were lil' hamburglar favorites.

Hahahaha. Yep. NHL 94 was so rough ridin' awesome. Especially when they had all of the goal songs.
Cam Neely from the Bruins & Theon Fleury from the Flames were the best at the wrap around

Star Fox on Super Nintendo (Do a barrel-roll!)
Bunch of Goldeneye fans, but no love for Perfect Dark?
Age of Empires on PC

Loved Ken Griffey Jr Baseball, Ocarina of Time, Star Fox, Blitz and Mario Kart 64, but my favorite was always Super Smash Bros. Character: Captian Falcon or Link depending on my mood
-
Command and Conquer: Red Alert
Sonic 2
SimCity2000
Also my grandparents old computer had a game called "Janitor Joe" (MS-DOS prompt: jumpjoe) that is probably my favorite game ever and if I got my hands on it today I would play for hours.

Does Halo 2 count as old(er)? I think it should if it was out on original xbox. I played the hell out of that game. That was so much fun.
Also N64'd a whole bunch. WAYNE GRETZKY'S 3D HOCKEY! was a good one. So was HITZ, but not as good as Blitz. Also, those saying NFL Blitz was good, I hope you're talking about Blitz 2000 and I also hope you're talking about tournament mode. The original blitz was bullshit because da bomb would work ever single play (either the first guy on the smaller slant or the larger post pattern). Defenses were smarter in Blitz 2000 and you actually had to run some other plays (subzero ).
Call me crazy, but I liked The World is Not Enough more than Goldeneye. You could play against AI bots on multiplayer, which was really fun. But I recognize what Goldeneye did for FPSs.
I played a game called Maniac Mansion a lot as a little boy on the computer. Also watched a show called Maniac Mansion. I'm not sure if they were related.
Tiny Toons Adventures was an awesome NES game which I'm not sure was mentioned ITT. Galaga, of course, was very good.

Someone already said it but Age of Empires was awesome. Two I'm shocked haven't been mentioned yet are Starcraft and Counter Strike, both were just incredible online.
-
Please, I still play Counter Strike on occasion.
-
Myself and my 4 boys LAN party the crap out of some starcraft and warcraft II.
-
Command and Conquer Red Alert.
-
Star Fox on N64 and Road Rash on Sega Genesis. I like them.
-
i'm gonna ask this in every N64 thread until someone else remembers it...did anyone else play Beetle Adventure Racing? like a lot? cuz i did and it was awesome. :frown:

Oh, man. I loved Baseball Stars so much. I built a team and changed all of the names to put my bros on it. It always made me a little bit sad when I fired the shitty players, but winning took care of that.

Favorite game of all time: Maniac Mansion
Game I've logged the most hours playing: Goldeneye
Best multi-player game: TMNT 2
Most underrated game: Clayfighter 63 1/3

Game I wish I would have played more: FF7 (Never owned it, but a friend did, so I only caught bits and pieces of the game. Been thinking about buying a PS1 for the purpose of playing that game.)
