Title: 30 for 30 on Maurice Clarett
Post by: Lucas Scoopsalot on December 14, 2013, 11:59:26 PM
Really good. It's kind of sad really. Ohio State and their AD are trash, just throwing him under the bus like that. I feel like Currie would do the same thing for his reputation.

Not in a good way, but, ya, it was a good documentary. I guess I didn't realize he didn't do crap in college and their dick AD ruined his life. I thought the NCAA busted him in an Escalade for some reason and his mom approved the loan.

Yeah, that AD really reminds me of Currie.

I am #TeamTressel for our next head coach.

I was waiting for at some point Clarrett to not act like a victim. Never happened. He really blames his life going down the pooper on a lot of other people.

Well, money and politics really didn't help his life that's for sure. The whole thing gave Ohio State a really bad image tho.

Oh Tressel and the AD are complete trash. This part is super obvious.

The way Tressel treated Clarett reminds me of the way Bill treated Ell.  He showed him tough love after he had already used him for his own personal gain.

Definitely true.  Those 30 for 30 docs (or any documentary) have a point of view they want to put out there.  Thus, there is some bias going to be out there to make Clarett appear to be a victim and tOSU establishment.  Otherwise, why watch?

Not saying Geiger and Tressel are fabulous guys.  Just hard to overlook the Clarett issues.

Caught parts of it. Clarett compared himself to LeBron. What a dumbass.

I didn't see the 30 for 30, but this book does a really good job of capturing how mumped up Clarett was.  Guy was with the group that represented him.

Did they get into why he was driving around Denver with an arsenal of illegal firearms wearing a bulletproof vest?  I always assumed he thought someone was out to kill him. :Crybaby:

Not that ridiculous. Carried his team to a national championship as a true freshmen. How many guys can you name that have done that? Not to mention that Miami team was stacked.

The ref's carried Ohio State to a national championship. Clarett was a good player, and that's it. Not at all comparable to lebron.

You're really overblowing it. They merely mentioned Maurice Clarett saw Lebron sign a nine figure contract out of high school, and suggested he felt entitled to a large contract too. They were both the top prep players of their sport from the state of Ohio. They're comparable for a number of reasons.

The only way they are comparable is they are from Ohio.

Well, and also, top prep players in their respective sports.

I remember the team awards banquet that year. Not 1 mention or 1 highlight of Ell the entire night. eff Bill for that.

The doc was worth watching simply for the highlights of Clarett toting the rock. Complete stud.

Did they get into why Clarett told everyone Tressell and his brother were paying him and a bunch of other players? Weird that they're supposedly bff's now after Tress shunned him, and then he spilled the beans on OSU.
