I have been doing it for a short while and have already felt the benefits in my lower and upper back. I haven't really seen any benefit in my cardio but I'm not concerned about that. I'm going at least four times a week. I am extremely inflexible and was wondering if anyone had started yoga and gained a lot of flexibility. I have extremely tight hamstrings and quads. Just curious about everyone's experiences. Thanks, go cats!

Mich does yoga!

I'm a huge fan of yoga. It's done wonders for my back as well. Not sure what other activities you do, but you'll be surprised what a stronger core does for you.
I actually started teaching it, but doing so got me out of practice, mainly because I have my friends coming to my classes, which is cool, I guess.

don't you fart a lot?

I haven't (yet), but one class I was teaching an older lady farted. No shame, she said, "Oh, that's some stinky chi"
I couldn't help but

I have never farted in yoga. Not sure why everyone thinks you do.
And most people don't realize that many yoga classes can really improve your overall strength.
-
it hurts
-

Yeah jerky it was a serious question. I don't know you from crap, so how the h would i know? You mentioned being very inflexible in your hammies and quads, which suggestions you may run. I sleep with a yoga studio owner here in town and perhaps I could hook you up with yoga tips/classes what not if you're serious.

It's good for the heart

Guys it's terrible at first but then after a few times it starts to be great.
-
I'm an absolutely pathetic distance runner. Short stubby legs don't like it. I'd like to get good at it though. Do you just run or what?
Fun fact: ran a 4.7 in high school #fanningbrag
