I mean, what do our coaches think when they see this? They have to feel pretty stupid, right? Or maybe they go into some vague rant about those guys not seeing what our coaches see.

Honestly, I want our coaches to have egos and never think they are wrong most of the time. Hopefully they recognize the times that they aren't and adjust of course, but coaches better think they know what they are doing and believe in their decisions 100%.

When they're wrong, I want them to know they're wrong 100% of the time. Anyone should. You can make a confident decision without being 100% sure it would work. Because being 100% sure about something in a football game is really, really stupid.

I would hope Skulletor doesn't mock anyone, with the fiasco behind center at WVU, he'd have no room to knock anyone else.

FADE IN:

INT. VANIER FOOTBALL COMPLEX, HEAD COACH'S OFFICE   DAY

Legendary head football coach WILLIAM SNYDER sits at his desk. A stack of papers hundreds of sheets tall sits in front of him. A close-up shot reveals that each sheet contains the diagram of a football play. We see LHFCBS complete another diagram, sign it, title it "23 SKIDOO OPTION WHIZ-BANG RIGHT," and toss it to the top of the pile. He gets another clean sheet and contemplates his next diagram.

                                     LHFCBS (to himself)
Let's see...Michigan is much better at defending the run than the pass...so they'll expect
us to pass. And we'll play along by starting Waters, but SURPRISE, let's only have him run!
                     They'll never see it coming!

Suddenly, DEL and DANA burst into the office, red-faced and shouting over each other, waving sheets of paper wildly in the air. Furious at this intrusion, LHFCBS's hand moves toward a lever marked "TRAP DOOR TO SHARK TANK," but he pauses before pulling it.

                                     LHFCBS (to himself)
I suppose, technically, feeding these idiots to the sharks could be considered "firing" an assistant, tho.

He pulls his hand away from the lever.

                                      LHFCBS
                      WHAT IS IT?

                                     DANA
Bill, the All Big 12 teams are out, and you're not gonna believe it...

                                     DEL
                       [unintelligible]

                                     DANA
[To Del]: SHUT UP! [To LHFCBS]: They've named Sams honorable mention
All Big 12, and Jake is nowhere to be found!

                                     DEL
                       [unintelligible]

                                     DANA
[To Del]: SHUT UP! [To LHFCBS]:  It's embarrassing, Bill! It's b*llsh*t! It
was probably those a-holes Briles and Gundy!

                                     LHFCBS [calmly]
                        It's fine.

                                    DANA [continues]
THEY weren't in practice with us! THEY didn't see what we saw! It's stupid!
                        I hate them, Bill!

                                    LHFCBS [calmly]
No, Dana. It's okay. You've got your facts right, but you've drawn the wrong conclusion.

                                    DEL
                        [unintelligible]

DANA kicks DEL, who curls up in a little ball and starts whimpering.

                                    DANA
                         What do you mean?

                                    LHFCBS
Dana, it's clear what's going on here. The other coaches in the
league recognize what we've got in Jake. They're scared of it.
And they're going to try every trick in the book to get us to play
Sams instead of Jake. But we're not going to fall for it, are we, Dana?

                                    DANA [confused]
                         Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

LHFCBS walks over to DANA, stepping over DEL in the process. He puts his arm around DANA.

                                    LHFCBS
It's okay, Dana. I've got it under control. I know exactly how to respond.
Now why don't you and Del go back to your office and work on that nice
jigsaw puzzle that I gave you for your birthday?

                                    DANA
                        Okay, boss.

DANA smiles, reassured, and walks to the door, with DEL scampering after him. After they leave, LHFCBS ponders things for a moment, then strides to his desk and punches a button on his phone.

                                    FEMALE VOICE [from phone]
                         Yes, sir?

                                    LHFCBS
Joan, take this note: "Jake Waters starting quarterback for 2014."

                                    FEMALE VOICE
                         Yes sir.

LHFCBS ends the call, sits in his chair, leans back, and smiles.

                                    LHFCBS
Nice try, Big 12. Nice try. Never gonna outsmart ol' Uncle Billy, tho.

FADE OUT

Most fans obviously have no idea how voting and getting HM works. That is a mind boggling rationalization (for something that doesn't need to be rationalized).

He is not great. A great QB learns from his mistakes.  I don't think that is the case with Daniel.  Yes, it does somethings very well, but take the KU game for example. The coaches were furious with him about something and then he didn't play again.  I don't know if he doesn't make the right reads or what, but he does something that the coaches don't like.  I like Daniel, but to call him great is an exaggeration.  I think he could be great, but he's not there yet.

Interesting that our HM QB will be playing WR next year.

I think Waters has this wrapped up, then you have Ertz and Sharp coming up next.

Unfortunately, if Sams cant get the offense in the right play call, no matter how good his *potential* is he is not the right fit for a QB in the LHC Bill Snyder system.

Maybe they are NOT scared on him as a QB, but don't want to see him as a "Boykin" type of player that lines up all over.  By getting him on the list as an HM, they are hoping it will encourage Coach to just keep him at QB?

I don't know if I was really willing to fly back to KS to fight, but I seriously considered paying $10 to join GPC just so I could write a very tersely worded response to those dumbasses. Do you think it would help? I kind of think I could tersely word a response enough that it might.

YES Pendergast!!!

I'm slipping on my nucks
I don't know if I was really willing to fly back to KS to fight, but I seriously considered paying $10 to join GPC just so I could write a very tersely worded response to those dumbasses. Do you think it would help? I kind of think I could tersely word a response enough that it might.
Dobber, get a trail script.  Then let em have it.  :shakesfist:

He is not great. A great QB learns from his mistakes.  I don't think that is the case with Daniel.  Yes, [he] does somethings very well, but take the KU game for example. The coaches were furious with him about something and then he didn't play again.  I don't know if he doesn't make the right reads or what, but he does something that the coaches don't like.  I like Daniel, but to call him great is an exaggeration.  I think he could be great, but he's not there yet.

i agree with the bolded parts

They wanted to put him in the game and he wasn't ready.  Coaches hate that kind of stuff.

I think 'great' is a bit of an exaggeration since he isn't even the starter.

I actually agree with the that. We don't have any QB that's even close to being great.
