Title: Is this game Michigan's Super Bowl?
Post by: Dr Rick Daris on December 09, 2013, 08:25:17 AM
I mean just think about it. they haven't been relevant since the desmond howard years and yet they somehow managed to back door their way into a bowl game against us. kansas state has been on national tv pretty much every week this year and just a year ago played in a bcs bowl game, had a heisman finalist and are widely accepted as a powerhouse in college football.

i guess my point is that as a kstate fan, it's probably our first inclination to take these guys lightly because of how bad they are and how bad their conference is, but i think it would be a mistake. i mean i still remember what boise state did to oklahoma in the fiesta a few years back and fear the same kind of thing here. they'll give this game everything they have and dial it up a notch because of who they are playing against and the fact that it will be a national stage. get ready for a dog fight imo.

i am a little worried about what the stadium will look like (in terms of fan support). their fans have to be through the roof thinking about the opportunity of playing a name like kansas state, and i just don't see our fan base getting that excited. i hope i'm wrong.

the plus here though, is that there are a lot of kansas state fans with second homes in the greater phoenix area that winter there. i can't imagine that's the case with michigan fans and their poor economy.

im a little worried that they are going to play like they have nothing to lose. they went for two to win the game against ohio state at home... so who knows what they will pull out for this game. i fully expect to see an onside kick or two and a couple hb passes.  :ohno:

that's my fear too. if you are LHC Bill Snyder, do you use this time to just get better for next year or do you use it to actually prepare for a michigan team with nothing to lose that is probably going to run three different versions of the statue of liberty before halftime. quite the pickle.

Well when you are a big-time program like KSU, you have to expect being somebody's super bowl on a weekly basis.  Just got done being KU's super bowl last week.  Same deal for our next game.  I think our guys can handle it.

Think of all the awful teams they play in the Big 10. This is such a step up.

You know the answer to that question.  LHC Bill Snyder doesn't GAF about bowl games.  We will have to beat Michigan with our D- game as Bill will be preparing for next season.

So how do you think this breaks out. Assuming we bring our D game, what is the outcome if MU brings:
C game or worse?- We win going away
B game- 10-14 point win
A game- Probably comes down to MU going for two to try to win?

This is truth. We will probably only win by 4-5 touchdowns because of this.
