Title: Do we have to consider Michigan State as a possible sister school?
Post by: Dugout DickStone on December 07, 2013, 11:15:08 PM
They seem to be the boss big brother of their state, won confy in football, really good in their hobby sport.  Is their baseball any good?

I vote yes.  But, I am open to your spirited debate on the matter.

Yes! Good idea let's have a summit or something like the UN and do important things.

A lot of similarities between KSU and MSU.   Food for thought....

I grew up as somewhat of a Michigan State fan. Here is a quick comparison.

Mark Dantonio is a good coach, but he's not Snyder.
oscar Weber, well, LOL, why even finish a sentence comparing him to Izzo.
Michigan is almost completely wooded. Kansas has very few trees, and K-State is known to HATE trees.
Michigan State has twice as many students as Kansas State.
Michigan is a Blue state, Kansas is a Red state.
The major metropolitan area servicing Michigan State is perhaps the worst city in the country, if not the civilized world; Kansas City is ok.
Michigan State claims to be the first Land Grant institution in America, the :IStateo: in me questions that claim. Regardless, Land Grant!  :excited:
Tom Izzo owns Kansas, maybe K-State could learn a thing or two.

Hope this helps.

Good point on the trees, seven. That said, they have Izzo and we have oscar.

There are alot of trees in manhattan... i remember being a little JungeSonntag and telling my parents i "Hated those trees!" because when we'd drive to the game i couldn't see the campus from the roadside/route (had not concept of space) and blamed it on all the beautiful trees along the roadside.

I think it is only in the fact that it was chartered by the state upon land granted to it by the state or something like that...the Morrill Act came along almost a decade later.

Lansing is a much shittier town than Manhattan. Lansing is almost as shitty as Norman.

About a year or so ago my buddy asked me who I would cheer for if I couldn't cheer for a team in the Big 12. My answer was Michigan State. This should be all you need to know to make your decision.

I would say worse...having KSU located in Topeka would be awful.

How many sister schools is a university allowed to have?  I know we have Duke and Florida (Gatorcats) already.  Any others?

Yeah I could get behind adding them as a sister school simply because of Izzo. Think of all the opportunities we would have to throw back some drinks and yell "Yeah baby SPARTY PARTY!!" after every big win.

I'm from Michigan. Half my high school went to MSU, including my sister who has two degrees from MSU. I may or may not have thrown a dorm lobby couch on a bonfire during not one but three riots in the 90's.

I'm not calling you a bad word, but believe me when I say, it is Sparty On.

Well that guy from St. John has 7 daughters, at least.  So we can easily have 3 sister schools and counting.

K-State has a powercat on their helmets. Michigan state has a helmet on their helmets, which is kind of like bed and breakfasts that have a sign out front with a picture of the bed and breakfast on them. I mean, WTF, I can see the house?
