he ran the wrong way, didn't he? :dubious:
no way it's designed that way.
-
Of course they designed an option where the whole team runs one way and the qb runs the other.
-
he didn't run into any of his line and butt fumble did he? let him have his johnny football moment
-
What's worse is it happened again and the second time Waters got mushed.

he is so dumb

He scored....what's the problem?
Oh, I suppose if SAMs did the same thing, he would be praised and not called a dumba$&..".

If Sams did it he would be praised for his incredible athleticism.

If SAMs did it he'd get benched.

It was awesome.

This pretty much sums up ku football. So bad they let Waters run for TDs when he doesn't even know what the playcall is.
-
Yeah, if sams did it, we wouldn't see him until next yr
As it is, he has had like 4-5 snaps in the last 16% of the season, and that seems to be simply for having taken two tackles for a loss.
-
It was cool you guys. Who cares
-
didn't jake do that twice? the second time he got drilled at the LOS. But yeah, I mean, the white kid just knows the playbook better.

Don't misinterpret this thread. It shouldn't be a long thread, or a threatening thread to Sams Club members. It's just a comment about a great play by Jake Waters on his touchdown run yesterday. I'm not inferring at all that Daniel Sams couldn't have made the same play, he could have. I just want to give an accolade to a player who has taken a lot of heat on this forum, who is a true Wildcat, and has done things the right way all season. Jake's TD run was the most athletic play he's made all season, and is reason to believe that he is a decent athlete - capable of improving even that aspect of his game (running). He will never be Daniels Sams running the football, but that TD run was pretty special for a guy who is considered a pocket passer. What impressed me the most was his presence of mind to switch the ball to his left hand near the end of the run. Had he not done that, he wouldn't have scored. As he was running towards the pylon, carrying the ball in his proper hand (his right), he realized in a split second that his angle, momentum and the fast closing defender would mean a quick adjustment. The only way he could have hit the pylon with the football was to dive out of bounds, and reach across with his left hand while still in the air. It was a brilliant football play, and to me, showed great instincts. Good for Jake, and good for K-State. We really needed that TD to put this game out of reach for KU. That's all. Don't make this thread anything more than it is

P'Dave and learnin' are the only poster(s) I miss from scout. Always ready to entertain.

It was cool you guys. Who cares
Cool that he got the play wrong? Or cool that KU is so terrible that a slow footed player running the wrong way on the option scored a TD?
-
the kid that couldn't remember the play was super smart in calculating velocity, wind speed, the acceleration of the defensive man, the relative humidity, and the curvature of the earth and instantly (on the run) came up with the idea to dive with the ball in the hand that would be closest to the pylon.
Savant!
-
I thought it was cool, and laughed when he confirmed that he went the wrong way. Gotta love an EMAW making
lemonade highlight-reel TDs out of lemons.

yup
he was right, the play was wrong.
theres no TD if run as intended. Just waters getting crushed after a gain of 2 like usual.
It reminds me of matt staffords fake spike dive TD. he just FELT it.

Scoring touchdowns is cool, I don't care how it happens. I will fist pump just as hard on a touchdown scored on a mistake as a will on a John Hubert iso dive from the one. Anyone who wouldn't is trying too hard.

I do too. My post was directed at those trying to turn a mistake into a preplanned, perfectly calculated, triumph. Also to point out that the guy who has been held on a pedestal as someone with amazing ability to know the playbook and read defense did something that flies in the face of that, not once but twice. My issue has never been with Jake. It has been with the anti Sams dumbasses.

Right. And if I were the coach, Sams takes 100% percent of the snaps. But Anti-Waters dumbasses are worse that Anti-Sams dumbasses, and it's not even close. I mean for eff's sake. This is a thread bitching about Jake Waters scoring a touchdown.
It's like some of you don't even enjoy watching us do successful things.

Waters could win a Natty and the Sams crowd would be complaining that he hasn't won a super-bowl.

Waters couldn't win a Natty. GMAFB.

Lol, it's not the fact that he got a touchdown, but how he got it. It won't work again probably ever and happened against one of the worst teams in the FBS(which he played absolutely terribly against). BTW, Waters will never have a chance at winning at natty here. Also, the tuck and pro Waters crowd always hits on the point that he "knows the playbook better" and that he's more intelligent. If Sams did it, he'd be DESTROYED by the same people praising Waters for it.
-
If he tried it against OU or TCU the weeks before, he would have been murdered in front of 50K ppl.

I wouldn't be complaining. I'd be dead from an accidental overdose.

Just read it. What was the important stuff I missed the first time around? That Waters is supposed to know the playbook? I don't give a crap if he fumbled three times on the run and still managed to score a touchdown. Who gives a crap. Johnny Manziel's "Heisman Moment" against Alabama was a play were he freaked out too early in the pocket, fumbled, recovered it, and then ran around panicking long enough that one of his guys slipped free for a wide open touchdown. It really does not matter.
-
Points are points.
-
I love 'meister's sig.

Yeah. People should be pissed about the garbage performance he had during the majority of the game, not the nice plays he made.

The point was that Sams would have been grilled by tucks in the same manner if he did it, and one of the main reasons he is the starter is that he knows the playbook and is more consistent. I'm not mad at the fact that he scored.
-
i'm a well documented waters hater, and i thought that play was neat.
i really lol'd hard at the ku guy that got juked by jake rough ridin' waters tho.

No, its a thread where people are bitching about the starting quarterback running the wrong goddamn play TWICE in the 12th game of the season. No one is mad about the touchdown, that's stupid. This also has nothing to do with anti Jake or pro Sams. The QB ran a different play than the rest of the team, twice, that's obviously bad. JFC.
-
jakes a horrible marketer of himself.
he should have just said "I saw and opening and carpe diem, emaw."
-
This is a thread bitching about Jake Waters scoring a touchdown.
No.
-
No, we're bitching he went the wrong way. It then resulted in a touchdown... because KU's football team is just that bad.
I'm really wanting to see Jake go the wrong way vs. the Pac 12 championship game loser and see how that works out. We're underdogs vs. anyone we get paired with so everyone pucker up.
-
One of my favorite KSU qbs of all-time went the wrong way on a play once. He got crushed though.
-
i think half of bishops TD's were from him doing the wrong play.
