I know I am definitely not a better coach than LHCBS. That is why I never question his play calling (I mean rarely). I could never build a program into a national powerhouse (from absolutely nothing). If we lose a game to a team like OU whom we are supposed to beat, of course it will make me sad . But calling for heads and acting like a spoiled brat because I used to be able to win games like this. "I won't do" The fact is, I will take a 6-5 record, a soldout stadium of over 50,000 a picture with a bronze statue. This would have never been imagined over 26 years ago, so I will definitely be happy with What I have. "To each his own" right? If you could find and pay for another coach or staff that will give you the same results, then by all means feel free.

God, I hate gopo.

From how this season began to now, im extremely happy with how this team has progressed. Yea, a few close games we shouldve won, but all things considered it could be worse. A few key pieces come together on Defense next year and I think Bill and the Cats make a run for Big12 champs.

We would have made a run this season with me (or most on this board) as HC

Having led good men in jungle combat a few decades ago, and with long tenure as a Fed/SWAT leader confronting bad guys across the spectrum, one might assume such active service would have dissipated any nervous anxiety that might now visit me at this less violent point of my life. That assumption would be wholly incorrect as there is nothing more nerve-wracking to this old 'Cat every single year than the approach of KU football week.
By now, my attentive family knows this and will give me a wide berth this week. And although the Maryland lady around here has never even been to Kansas, she is certainly aware of the clear distinction between "something called the Jayhawks"--as she tells her mom on the phone--"and his team, the Wildcats." She adds, "And his team wears purple.. Isn't that cooool?"
Here is something for younger 'Cats to think about--and to look forward to... I am 69 years old, long gone from Manhattan, and my aversion to Kansas University sports is stronger today than it was when Manhattan was in my rear view mirror in 1970.
In witnessing this annual behavior, many good friends over the years who realize I'm a fairly reasonable and grounded fellow have asked me what they think is a good question, to wit: Why do you hate that other school so much. And in response, I'm sure they find the answer unsatisfying because all I say is, "To loath them, you have to know them. And you don't know them. I damn well do know them... Therefore, I hate."
If we win on Saturday, I'm good for another year of sheer bliss on this issue. If we lose, I am inconsolable, as the lady would tell you.
So, I take nothing for granted. We only need win the game by one damn point, and I am fine with that. But we must win!
Go Cats! Beat KU!!

Classic Bookie Pimp stuff right here. I mean, he said this almost verbatim to me at UTpak'13.
FYI, he doesn't shut up about 'Maryland lady,' I think it's his dog? :dunno:

Such a good message on so many levels.
It's impossible to thank you enough.

I don't see it with this defense, you still lose 2 games. Only way you would have a chance is by using Sams 100% of the time and turn him into a Klein clone and just own time of possession so the D doesn't get destroyed, but I still think they aren't talented enough.

When the offense runs the ball effectively, they have been one of the best defensive units in the Big 12.
