Title: Shane
Post by: wetwillie on November 21, 2013, 08:14:19 PM
Has everyone given up on Shane?  I'm a Shane homer so this hurts.  I want to blame it on oscar but I don't know how.

Shane needs a good pg to be good.  Blame oscar for losing angel after giving him a conf ring

Jevon will unlock Shane (I hope)

When Jevon gets there, if he is what he is billed to be, we will see the shane of last yr and it could free up foster and things could really get a dece amt better.

I think Thomas will be better, but Nigel Johnson has done pretty decent at PG. He has a ways to go, but this team plays better when he's at PG for the most part.

I agree.  Given time and a good pg to practice against, I think he will be serviceable

Also, I hope Jevon os super rough and intense and strong.  We need a physical leader to infect others.  The frosh could be pretty good if the get some more time but the strength and intensity needs some serious focus, imo

Do you mean his FTR (lack of attempts)?

That's the area where we miss Frank for sure.

there is little in his hs or college career before last year to suggest he is a .400 3 pt shooter.  about best that can be said of his stats exclusive of last year are that his attempts (ft & 3s) were so sparse that they also provide little evidence one way or the other.

Yeah, last year was strange for Shane. I think he could probably be a 30-35% shooter, but that's probably his ceiling.

Shane doesn't have the swagger he had last year. That's on him to get up for it and take over. This teams leadership has been crickets since Pullen. He should embrace this time instead of moping around.

Shane needs to grow about 5 inches if we're going to turn this season around

Thus far, his ppg are up 1.5 and rpg are up by 2 from last year.  (Despite no Angel!) What is it you guys expecting from him?

Shane is really a win / win for oscar.

Shane plays well and it's because oscar is a great coach.

Shane plays like crap and tucks blame it on Frank's shitty recruiting.

He's a top 150 guy that was mr basketball in New York.  I just don't see how anyone can construe it as shitty recruiting?

dnr thread, but my hope for jevon is that he provides some of the leadership/fire that is missing.  say what you want about sprads/shane not stepping into leadership roles, but when you're a mediocre player it's harder to lead.

Someone needs to separate FPTC's from their FP'ness.  Need a guy that will force them to do that.

Shane plays like crap because oscar is ruining him
