Can you just rank the teams based upon who is actually the best? That would make a lot more sense to me.

Well, it really shouldn't. I mean, if you are trying to put together a fair system that actually puts teams into a playoff based upon on-the-field performance, figure it in. If you are trying to rank the teams based upon who is the best, you should just leave it out.
