Don't let these ignoramuses give you a hard time.  Dlew will have you sittin' pretty by the end of this post.

One word: Kite's.

Kite's is a great little spot in the little apple and their steak is absolutely top notch.  It was voted number college sports bar in the country, so it comes with a great pedigree.  But don't be fooled into thinking that this place is just a wild and crazy night spot (although it is home to Kansas's only light up dance floor, but that vibe begins after 10 or so).  During the day, the food is unrivaled.  Anytime my parents would come to town when I was still in school there, we'd always hit up Kite's.

My dad is a big time cattle rancher out in West Central Kansas, and according to him, the cuts Kite's uses for there steak are absolutely top notch.  The first time we ate there, he told me "I can't believe this place is located in Manhattan and not in a more populated area like Kansas City, St. Louis or even Chicago."  He said he thinks it's the best kept secret in the entire midwest.

If this is a serious question, then I'm gonna recommend Hibachi Hut.

Maybe he should have asked: "what is the best restaurant in Manhattan that doesn't serve fish sticks?"

I am heading up as well. Doesn't sound like many elite options.

You're probably talking about the piece last year from the chef diner, but Snyder wasn't there.  Just a bunch of old, racist tucks talking about how awesome he is...  So yeah, you're probably right.

1. It was the same segment.

2. If you'd rather experience Aggieville than downtown, the best steak house in Aggieville is Johnny Kaw's. It's a little higher end, but it's all locally grown and hormone-free so the price reflects that. Fun Fact: If you order one of their famous white Russians, it's made with milk from the owner's farm. They also have a great wine selection from a vineyard that the owner's best friend runs.

3. sys, your post directed at Dlew12 about Reptilian gave me a pretty good chuckle.

I may never order another drink and any other Aggieville restaurant again.

Also, their red wine selection is iffy at best unless you're really into pinot or malbec, which I am not.

I assume the suggestions by you and sys were in jest, if you're asserting that there's better steak to be had in Manhattan (or Kansas, for that matter) than the one's served at Kite's.
