John, first I'd like to say congratulations for what you have accomplished so far with the organization. Frank Martin was not something you, as the Athletic Director, could handle. He was an abrasive persona that required a confident leader at the helm. Many unconfident losers like yourself would have forced him out and hired some loser that could not lead his team. However, you were able to lure away oscar Weber who has a proven track record of winning in the short term with another coach's players. For that we owe you an enormous debt of gratitude. The hardware is forever. You have before yourself another amazing opportunity. Like any good boss will tell you, my job is not to help you be the best employee I can have, it's to help you have the best career you can have. You have made one hire in your tenure here. You hired oscar Weber, an unconfident loser stop gap that was the only persona you could deal with. However, you now have the opportunity to make an actual winning fire and hire that could cement your legacy as a non-loser candidate for a big time SEC/ACC level AD position. Nobody will touch you right now. Despite you heroic building accomplishments you have made this one humiliating hire. A stop gap to stop the bleeding from you inability to deal with a dynamic coach's persona. Nobody wants that. That can all be corrected now. Take the reigns John. Picture your dream job and ask yourself what that program would like to see in an AD. It's someone who's not terrified of a coach (you made your bed here) and someone who isn't terrified to let an unconfident loser coach go and hire a winner. You may never have this opportunity again. Please consider.

i agree with steve dave, john. make your mark then leave us for your dream job.
-
John, make the move. If you would like a list of ppl to contact, please let us know. We are here to help. Don't wait too long, though. While buildings may not be easy to build, programs are much harder to build and take much more time. Letting a program completely fail before taking action would prove disastrous to what seems to be a promising career, thus limiting opportunity. Sky's the limit at this point. Be Bold. Be decisive.

This is your time, John. Seize the moment.

I believe in John Currie. He won't stand watch as oscar Weber plows the basketball program into irrelevance.

-
perfectly sums up my thoughts and feelings on the subject steve dave.
we believe in you John Currie.
-
Hey guys let me know how I can help. I want whats best for Kansas State University.
-
John, I'm going to make it brief here: Get your crap together.
-
Powerful Stuff Guys!!!!!!!!!!!
We can't make the fire/hire today but we should be pursuing our options and be ready to make the move after the KU/K-State game. That is our best chance of the shirt tuck crowd buying into a regime change this early.
We don't really get anything out of putting Lowery in charge as interim hc for 4 months. I think Currie should use the Monday Night beatdown by KU as the opportunity (February 10).

Isn't currie like right down the road from dallas as we type? I mean, I am sure his consultant buddy could use another $50k asap.

I have a friend who is a big time donor at K-State. He heard a rumor his consultant buddy was a drug dealer and he locked himself in the hotel to do large volumes of cocaine that weekend. Now clearly, that is just a rumor and nobody should spread around that Currie occasionally stays in a hotel by himself to do large volumes of cocaine on a weekend binge despite the fact that it came from a strong source that is high up in the MHK community.

Would explain the hire

I hope this happens, and for the first time ever I will almost consider LOL repeatedly if it doesn't work out, as the Too Cool for Schoolers usher in some guy they think is sexy and smells good from a list of "up and coming" mid major coaches . . . as that guy completely fall flat on his face on the major conference level at K-State.
-
seems like our current guy was a "sexy up and comer midmajor guy" who just happened to get fired from his one big boy job

Weber was the homely girl who'd never leave us, and was good in the kitchen.
Sexy? No.

hey dax, do you even know that oscar weber got fired for sucking? a lot of your posts make it seem like you don't know that he got fired (from a bcs job) for sucking. if you didn't know that, how does this new information of oscar being fired from his only major job effect your view of him?
-
has anyone sent dax's message to Currie via email yet? if not someone should do so.
