Better turn the NCAA tourney into a numbers game K-State hoops. Nobody is going to win 9 straight like UCLA anymore. F_ck, ku is a self proclaimed dynasty and they win a national title on average once every 27.5 years.
That means:
1. Recruiting the talent to get there all the time.
2. Recruiting the talent to win there all the time.
3. Going year, after year, after year, after year. Can't have this bull$hit of making it every so often, you've got to be there every franking year.

"like"

Totally agree. How do we achieve objectives 1 and 2? :dunno:

Pay recruits. Cut women's basketball program

Well we must get much dirtier that's for sure, we're not even close now.

You have to be both Good and Lucky.
-
You have to good, a little lucky . . . and creating luck means being good and getting their every F'ing year.
It's a numbers game . . . you gotta get there every year. This should be Frank's primary objective . . . be good enough to get to the dance every year.

Agreed! KSU burnt up all of their luck against xavier unfortunately- that foul at the end of regulation against xavier might have made a huge difference tonight.

When discussing goals and expectations for KSU basketball years ago, this is my exact answer. NCAA lock, every year. From there, just enjoy the ride.

Lets start pouring dinero into baseball. :dunno:

I know it was a great year and totally beyond my expectations. I love this team and this coach and everything they did this year.
But, us old guys have seen K-State get this far and always crash and burn. I was just hoping it would be different this time.
Dax is correct, the secret is to get in a position to get to this point every year. Given enough tries, even a school like KU can win a national championship. Just got to not go into hibernation for 20 years like last time.

We need to get put on probation. Seems like that helps with winning it all.

Goddamn this is a legit post. Took the words out of my mouth. Let's get disappointed like this a hell of a lot more often. We need consistency to eventually win this damn thing. I know we're all tornament noobs but lets at least get to an elite 8 more than once every 20 years before we start complaining about choking.

As I said, please cut women's basketball, its a money hole.

POTD. Great season and look at guys like Coach K, Izzo, Calhoun, Dean rough ridin' Smith, Self, etc. eff Jim Boehiem is a coaching legend and he has won one NCAA title in 33 years and been to 3 Final Fours.

So what you're saying is, it's like fishing, keep throwing the line out there and eventually you'll catch a fish?
I would like to win the big one before I die, but this run was fun :kstatriot:

You are right. Nothing about this season was crash and burn. This season exceeded all my expectations. I just wish we woud have played the last game more like they are capable of playing.

+1. Positive side: media spin seems to be all "Cats were fatigued after winning one of the greatest games in NCAA tourney history."
"So we've got that going for us, which is nice."

^^^^^^ K-State fan. (Which is also nice.)

Not to blame the loss on it, I do think there was some fatigue. It just seemed that K-state didn't have the hops that they normally do. They didn't get to the loose balls and rebounds like they always have. They just looked slower than usual, however, Butler played well.
